We visited to try a Iceberg, a draught beer topped with a frozen lime Margarita, and ended up having delicious mexican food and homemade Tequila (that was absolutely delicious) ... Fat Cactus is so worth a visit.

We arrived at 2:45 on Xmas eve and they were closing at 4pm, but we were served quickly with our menus, closely followed by taking our drinks order, which then arrived promptly. We ordered the Cheesy Nachos off the starter menu to share, as all...we wanted was a quick snack. They did not disappoint, plenty for two as a snack and very tasty. It’s rustic and simple, but kinda what we were expecting! Will be going back when in Woodstock!More

Friendly welcome at arrival. Very nice setup! Friendly and helpful staff. Beer nice and cold. We ordered some nachos, and happy with our choice.

We had a great time last Sat eve. Fat Cactus was very accommodating for our private function in a shared space on the deck they have (smoking section, half open but with those tent sails they roll down on cold days), where we were allowed...to bring branding items and sell our new condiment. Food: great as ever, staff: flexible and relaxed, our platters arrived at the tables dead on time as discussed. We ordered 7 Combo Fiesta Platters, that's how good they were;) We could have been given a bit more space on the deck when I increased the number of guests expected by about 40% ahead of time, but we had a blast nevertheless. The place was packed and lively, exactly as we wanted it. We will definitely come here again.More

Fat cactus has gone a bit downhill in recent years which is a shame considering most of the southern suburbs of cape town only offer burger, steak or pizza restaurants. Anyway we were a table of 12 and it was a surprise farewell for a friend...who is emmigrating so as long as the drinks came quick. But sadly one lady food was forgotten by the kitchen and when we requested this be taken off the bill for inconvenience this did not happen. This particular lady owns her own restaurant and was not very happy about the service. The mixed platter could feed at least 4 people but is very overpriced for what it is. It used to be a favourite but there are better places to eat in future. Sorry FCMore

Had dinner there tonight. Celia was our waitress. Such a personable, chatty young lady. It was such a treat to talk to her! I had the chicken fajitas and my friend Jill had the fish tacos. Delicious meals. Great upbeat atmosphere! Our hotel balcony was right...above the restaurant and we had music every night. A very happening restaurant! You have to try it!More

Quick coffee break lead me to this little place in the heart of Woodstock. Authentic Mexican drinks and food. Patrons were in and out for either a couple of drinks or a bite to eat. Service was very good as well as my lunch. Ideal...place to meet friends after work and stay well into the night. You might even meet this cutie pie that popped in for a meal. Try it Amigos!!More

We went here early evening at around 7pm as a family of four with two children under 10. The place was very lively with lots of people enjoying the weekend ! Although we had two young children we were made to feel welcome and the...staff were very attentive. Food and drinks were ordered. We sat outside and the atmosphere was great. Food was even better. We had the corn dogs, fajitas and tacos and all shared. We did not feel pressured at anytime to leave and the server took time to speak to us and ask us about our day and time in Cape Town. A really good place to eat and also have a few drinks. Would recommend and return !More

The atmosphere and service was great. Its got a nice lively vibe to it with inside and outside seating. The hamburger I opted for was great but over priced but chosen rather than the VERY overpriced Mexican food. But if R 260 for a burger...and two beers is not an issue you will enjoy it.More

Visited this gem for the first time with my wife and 2 daughters. Was very vibey and the burgers were awesome. Also ordered a frozen margarita jug which was tasty. Staff were friendly and on the ball and the bill was surprisingly cheap. Highly recommended.

Food delicious as always, huge plus for the vegan alternatives. However, the service could be better. Found a maggot in my frozen margarita which was not dealt with; not even an apology. When asking for dietary alternatives, the waitress was not very helpful and made...us feel like we were inconveniencing her by asking too many questions. The overall experience was still ok seeing as the food was very tasty.More

We enjoyed the food at the fat cactus but was disappointed in the service, it felt like the waiter was forcing himself to serve us and at the end of it all he hand wrote the 10% tip on our bill of two people. Disappointed.
