Dropped in for lunch - laidback atmosphere and excellent food. Great atmosphere, good staff attentive but not intrusive and really really good food very freshly

Love the new look at the Hidden Leaf and some of the new menu ideas. But look forward to seeing the scrumptious gourmet, free range chicken butter milk, beef and veg burgers back on the chalk board menu. Please!!!

The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor for those who can’t take stairs. The service was very slow, but that’s expected when you have 1 cook and 1 waiter. The food was descent. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was seasoned nicely,...but the waffle was bland...bland ..bland! They top it with what tastes like mayo & mustard which is kinda strange for a waffle, but when you take a piece of waffle, chicken, slaw garnish, and the secret sauce it’s not so bad, but not so great either. My friends had the burgers and they loved them so it’s defiantly worth a pop in.More

Decided to bring some friends for lunch here as I’ve always been a fan. Needless to say, I left there a little embarrassed. We were the only table in the restaurant but twice I had to find the waiter to order more drinks (he was...sitting on his phone). It took over an hour to send out our food, and although it was tasty there was no value for money. A burger costs between R80 and R90 and that excluded fries or even a side salad. You would need to pay extra for that. I’ve had one or two good meals...but I don’t think I will be returning again. No consistency.More

I loved the setting, vibe and decor of Hidden Leaf - it has a rustic but romantic feel, that would be lovely on a warm evening - especially on the plant-filled balcony overlooking Woodstock rooftops-, but was just as lovely on a colder night, feeling...snug and nostalgic inside. The food is fresh and hand crafted, but I found the portions small for the price. Great that there are so many vegan options too. I guess I will visit for special occasions, that is worth it.More

Less than mediocre. After listening to a review on the radio we went there tonight. What a disappointment. Food- less than average, staff- less than ordinary. Won't be back. Tasteless fish pie, chicken waffle with burnt waffle!!!More

Thank you for your less than kind review. This is the first time we've had any complaint about any of the dishes you've mentioned - the fish pie you were served was prepared by myself and is delicious - I know tastes do vary but...More

It’s a very hip place to hangout and relax as solo or with a group. A good selection of items from vegan, vegetarian to meat lovers. All burgers are tasty, and the falafel and loaded potato wedges are absolutely divine. The lentil soup is a...big portion and good to share too. The service, ambiance and background music are excellent as well. We had such a good time there and will definitely go back next time when we are in Cape TownMore

A really nice place! They have a blackboard-menu which changes often and has a variety of interesting plates on it, some of them you wouldnt find in a standard restaurant. The food was very tasty and the staff very friendly. Great views of the mountains...from the balcony!More

All around awesome experience. Super welcoming staff and excellent home made food from scratch with delicious vegetarian options. Don‘t get scared by the metal door - just ring the bell. They buzz you in. The restaurant feels like a private apartment with a great view...from the Table Mountain down to the harbor. The halumi cheese sticks are made from scratch and taste so much better than the mozzarella sticks you get in other restaurants. We tried the vegetarian raviolis and the vegetarian burger - both were delicious. Be sure to include a visit.More

Nice and casual atmosphere in the Woodstock area with a good variety of yummy dishes - meaty, vegetarian and even vegan. The Headen Leaf team is very hospitable and warm-hearted. The view on the balcony is amazing - booking is recommendable. The cocktails however leave...some room for improvement.More

This was mine & my wife’s 3rd visit to Hidden Leaf. The previous two visits were exceptional, so we decided to treat my parents to dinner at this venue. Unfortunately it was a significant disappointment: - ordered croquettes to share as starters. It was nearly...all dough and nothing else, - the waitress (the only person serving all the guests) forgot to put through my dad’s order. He had to wait an additional 20min after we got our meals for his. - the quality of the main dishes has significantly deteriorated. The pork loin was extremely bland, while the gluten free fried chicken waffle was very dry. I ordered the harissa beef burger, which was adequate, and nowhere near my expectations. I am very disappointed with quality of offerings and also the quality of service. In Hidden Leaf’s defense, the waitress apologized profusely for her mistake, which I appreciate. She also explained that they had a change in chef 3 weeks’ previously, which may explain the decline in quality of offerings. I hope that Hidden Leaf can attain its previous high standards in due time.More

Yes the restaurant has a nice view on the mountain but that is it. I had a pulled pork burger which i didn't enjoy. The place is nice but not out of the ordinary.

Very comfortable setting (access only by a steep flight of stairs) and nice view on the balcony, although could do with some umbrellas for anyone wanting to sit outside. Menu changes every 3 weeks and is well designed for various dietary requirements. Starters were delicious...and main courses were interesting although tastes may vary! Presentation was top notch. On the pricier side for a lunch venue so worth a visit but unlikely to be a regular stop considering the wealth of options in the area.More

We were a little confused at first because we only saw the downstairs shop but found a small, beautifully decorated restaurant upstairs. When we asked whether we could sit on the balcony as well (despite it being already full), they immediately brought a new table...for us. The menu is rather small but as far as I understand gets changed regularly and there is something to be found for everyone. The food is amazing and I have probably eaten the best entrée in my entire life. (Don't ask me what it was. something with mozzarella and deep fried potato peel) The staff is superfriendly and the chef checks in on the guests' well-being as well. I would definitely recommend this place!More
