Interesting old place. Both service and food were good. At the back there's an interesting garden with a pool you can actually swim in. The main bar still allows smoking (which was a delight as an Englishman), and there's a pleasant balcony at the front....More

A beautiful historic setting with lovely atmosphere. Affordable pub menu starting with a breakfast menu, light lunches and even a Sunday lunch. Service can be improved as 2 waitresses are not enough on a busy Saturday. Food was tasty but average

The Pub serving the Restaurant and Inn is the oldest continuously Licenced Pub in South Africa. The sense of history can almost be touched in this wonderful old place. The Restaurant consists of two locations. The timeless and popular verandah which adjoins the street as a sidewalk cafe where you can enjoy a grilled fish, steak or enjoy a coffee and the signature lemon meringue tart and watch the passing parade in this quaint village. Alternatively, the Historic Dining area has recently (in September 2011) been refurbished with a focus on its historic roots. The restaurant is popular for its traditional Sunday Roasts.
