On a Saturday evening, my wife ordered Paella and I the Chicken wrapped in bacon. Her Paella was drowning in Chili so she sent it back. The newly made Paella that arrived, had less Chili but I had a taste and the sweat started pouring...off me. The rice was much stronger than the little bits of Chorizo. That, plus the 2 or 3 prawns and the sprinkling of mussels made for a bland dish except for the burning Chili. We have eaten Paella in Barcelona and several restaurants in Sea Point and never experienced such a dreadful Paella. And at a really expensive price, just to add insult to injury. With plastic tablecloths and no bread given, this is not an upmarket restaurant. Patrons come to drink and admire the view. The food and the slow service are to be avoided.
My Chicken was hard and tough, where the best part of my meal was the cauliflower mash. If the chef cannot make a simple chicken dish to be soft and tender, how can any of his other dishes be any better?
Also we booked our table a week before but they did not bother to check up when we arrived since the restaurant was fairly empty. They are very casual about bookings - for instance, they did not record our first booking.More
