We have been twice, purely based on its location! After the poor first breakfast experience, we wrote it off as a 1 time/off day and gave them another try. Sadly nothing had changed.
Decor inside: 2/5
Sour milk in...coffee
Food is rather bland, tired, and tasteless. Even though menu is well scripted.
Desperate need of a new chef! Sadly.
Great place for drinks outside, NOT food!More
We opted to go to On the Rocks as it is close to home and sunset views are amazing but the service and food does definitely not match the view!
Waiter did not know what the line fish was and the paella was a shocking...attempt at this dish
So disappointing for what was meant to be a lovely anniversary dinnerMore
Wonderful place but we waited for our courses very long, although it was not busy at all. Waiters were talking to Euch other inside the cafe, the waiter left the empty cans on the table rolling around because of the wind and served a wrong...starter. Would drink something and leave next time.More
Met friends for lunch. Stunning views but food not quite up to a decent standard. I had. Isabel’s which was quite tasteless but the paella was much worse. The rice was very thick and “stodgy” with few view real pieces of seafood. Two or three...small prawns that had hardly any fish inside. I ate it all only
Because our frequent recommended the restaurant. It wasn’t cheap, but was disappointing.More
Good food well presented, friendly service. A little more expensive than many such places, but the food quality more than justifies this. We have had dinner here twice in the last couple of weeks.
Portions are large - don't over-order or you won't have room...for the splendid desserts.More
On a Saturday evening, my wife ordered Paella and I the Chicken wrapped in bacon. Her Paella was drowning in Chili so she sent it back. The newly made Paella that arrived, had less Chili but I had a taste and the sweat started pouring...off me. The rice was much stronger than the little bits of Chorizo. That, plus the 2 or 3 prawns and the sprinkling of mussels made for a bland dish except for the burning Chili. We have eaten Paella in Barcelona and several restaurants in Sea Point and never experienced such a dreadful Paella. And at a really expensive price, just to add insult to injury. With plastic tablecloths and no bread given, this is not an upmarket restaurant. Patrons come to drink and admire the view. The food and the slow service are to be avoided.
My Chicken was hard and tough, where the best part of my meal was the cauliflower mash. If the chef cannot make a simple chicken dish to be soft and tender, how can any of his other dishes be any better?
Also we booked our table a week before but they did not bother to check up when we arrived since the restaurant was fairly empty. They are very casual about bookings - for instance, they did not record our first booking.More
We arrived in Cape town from London, looking for a great way to get our south africa holiday underway. Not only did this restaurant live up to our expectations, it exceeded it tenfold.
Incredible views of table mountain, with the relaxing sound of waves crashing...on the rocks whilst dining on great food (the oysters are out of this world
Henry and his staff were exceptional, and I recommend this place to all my friends and colleagues in the UK as a must see when visiting Cape TownMore
I went for lunch with my partner and the service and food was amazing. Created straight away by Henry and we had an amazing table with amazing views. No booking required! The presentation of the food was insane! Chapeau for the chef! Really beautiful! We...decided to come back the day after for breakfast too. I will also come back until the end of my holidays as so far is the best restaurant I have seen in the area.More
