After a long day driving we walked from our apartment to this nearby venue and more cafe style than restaurant it was pleasantly okay offering Sushi , Asian & Local Dishes. Our waiter was pleasant and the Sushi Platter we ordered was Freshly made it was big in size and not much filling of Fish.. Salmon was present but overall it was tasty and did the job. For the 2nd dishes we had a Vegetable Chow Mein which was quite salty and my Chicken Noodle Soup was lovely but not much meat was evident although the stock was lovely. Both of us agreed it was very cheap in cost but if they added a few more Rand to dishes and added more product & protein it could be a delightful dining venue. Alcohol is available along with small selection of Wines

What a circus! I reserved a table a few days before Valentines Day and asked about the sushi buffet option. We were told yes, they do serve buffet on Valentines Day. We arrived at 5pm and told the waitron we had left our kids home alone and wanted to be back before loadshedding at 8pm. We placed our orders, were not offered drinks and for the rest of the night the waitron who we later found out was the manager, proceeded to dodge and ignore us as far as she could. We were served 4 messy handrolls, spring rolls, tempura and won tons. Did not see any of the salmon roses we ordered or any of the other sushi while waiting for 2.5 hours. We watched as telephone orders and Uber orders walked in and out with parcels of sushi. Other patrons received their sushi, salmon roses, etc. There was almost nothing on the belt. At 7.30, we realised we were purposely being ignored. She then proceeded to charge us for each plate which we objected to. She then charged us for 1 sushi buffet (R199) instead of 2. It was too late to go anywhere else and most restaurants were full to the brim by then and without a reservation, we were forced to go home. I will never go back to The Orient. My Valentines dinner was ruined with only a rushed insincere apology. Someone had messed up and we were paying for it. Maybe they were not allowed to serve buffet that day? Or stock was limited? The worst part was that her actions were intentional. I have worked in the restaurant industry and would NEVER treat anyone like this.

Takes 45 minutes between to receive a dish of the "all you can eat" sushi, certain orders take an hour plus, wrong orders constantly, 3 out of 8 of our party who had the sashimi now have food poisoning. Was advised there is no tuna, then when the salmon salad was ordered advised there was no avocado. Told them to walk to pick and pay, which is next door, and go buy some avo's or I would and they can refund me. Disgusting for a sushi restaurant. Worst service, worst run establishment I've ever visited and the managers are either missing in action or don't give a shh, pick your poison...we clearly did.

One would expect, visiting a sushi - Chines Food and Seafood restaurant, that everything would be seriously fresh! I had the Crispy Beef and it had an overwhelming cheap sweet chilly sauce and the beef was not crispy, the rice dry and hard, hardly appetising! The sushi was equally disappointing! The Dim Sum and port stickers tasted elestic and if it may have fallen in the deep fryer with old oil, than a pan. When we decided to send the Pina Colada back because it tasted nothing like a half decent Pina Colada, the waitress pulled her face, shrugged her shoulders and walked off with the drink, other than that, no response! I would not recommend this restaurant. You are better off buying a boerewors roll from the side window at the overly priced Moyo restaurant!

We had the sushi and sweet and sour pork. The sushi was very fresh and delicious and the pork was crispy and tasty. Service was not up to standard. Better place for takeout.

After I ordered prawn spring roles and asked for these to be a starter they arrived still frozen inside. After these were taken away I received a replacement but then also received my main at the same time. The main was a sizzling dish with separate noodles (which were also cold) however I had to ask for a plate to eat from which the waiter duly produced after calling me chief 3 times. I think they should keep to being a sushi bar as they certainly can't cook. Worst meal I had as long as I can remember

We decided to try this place after walking past, sat at the sushi belt, it was great seeing the skill of the sushi chef preparing the different offerings, of which we tried quite a few, the sushi was fresh and tasty, with an option of 2 for one, or the buffet, either way you get good value for money.
