Good for tourists want to taste local cuisines. Friendly staff, decent menu. Pocket friendly menus at good location.

The only positive about this restaurant is the traditional zu fang (rice beer) served in bamboo mugs. I've seen a lot of raving reviews about Red Pepper but had never been there so I decided to try it out with some friends. To be fair,...the first night was around the festive season so they were extremely understaffed. They only had traditional Mizo food that night so our options were limited. We waited for an hour and a half for our food because they were waiting for the rice to cook. When it came, some of the rice was still crunchy from being undercooked, so one of our friends had to ask for a fresh plate of rice. The second time I went, the food was slightly better. We'd had their Korean fried rice and some sides of meat dishes. That said, I wouldn't say it was very delicious or impressive. Just meh.More

Listen if you’re a banana leaf freak, and dig local cuisine, THIS IS THE PLACE! It’s so popular with the local Aizawlwalas that you may have to wait your turn for a great Mizo Thali of maybe 20 delicious items!

Last December me with my two friends made a tour in India's remote state of Mizoram. We boarded at a basic hotel, Cosmo at Bara bazar where foods were also available. We took our breakfast in a street food corner in front of our hotel....But we wanted to taste Mizo foods. One of the customer told us about this restaurant. That afternoon we headed towards Chanmari, few minutes walk from our hotel. It is in the first floor, well decorated, matched Mizo heritage and culture. A smart attendant welcomed us. As it was full of customers, most of them were local so we had to wait for some time. Finally we managed a table. We ordered beef, rice and a thali which contaied about 15- 20 items of various vegetables fry and meshed. they also served dal in glasses. One intesting thing is they served foods on banana leafs. Foods were tasty and we finished them up all. Food prices were a bit high. I think it was the best place to taste Mizo dishes in a nice and cozy environment at Aizawl.More

If you want to taste the local cuisine this is the place. Try rice juice. Friendly staff. Could be better with bigger portion and variety of choices.

I was in Aizawl for work when I visited this place. I ordered traditional Mizo meal which came out in a beautiful plate, served on a banana leaf. The staff was very good, they had cabins for hire as well. Very good place to enjoy...local food.More

The ambiance is pretty okay- where they try to recreate typical Mizo huts with seating inside those. While the food itself is nothing to write home about if you are to compare it with a good home cooked mizo food but if you are having...mizo food for the first time its a pretty good place to start. Even the presentation/plating is quite impressive. The location of the restaurant is a big plus.More
