Dishes in general are very well prepared, without hiding flavors or interfering with each other, quite original although not amazing proposals and with well-chosen seasonal products, but not in accordance with a menu of that level, being able to choose products more related to the Mediterranean that they have. in front of the gate and the Maestrazgo area just 60 km away, even so, they have used good oil from the area, good bread and good local cheeses that are a success. The 4 very original starters and almost up to par, the other 6 dishes and at least 2 of them with a serious problem in the use of salt (and I am a person who usually eats too much salt) have totally destroyed the gastronomic experience of the same, it is unforgivable that in dishes as round as the skate and then the rice are salty hiding the flavors in a Michelin Star, the other 4 quite round: notable oyster, also notable is the texture achieved in the tuna, really impressive, almost the same as in a bluefin tuna, which would have been my choice in this preparation, the corvina is very good with its crispy skin, the meat is very juicy, but again, excess salt (only in the crispy skin). but very well cooked to the point and with a perfect accompaniment of products… The truth is I love edible flowers, but I have to say that the excessive use of edible flowers in various dishes is tiring and takes away imagination (5 of them). The minimalism of the room is correct, but to improve the lighting and I think it is urgently necessary to create spaces with more privacy, or at least a couple of private rooms for occasions or, in my case, an anniversary. Very correct attention and good service from both waiters, fast with the food at the perfect temperature. To improve crockery and cutlery.... but this is personal and not a defect. In short, a place to return and give it a chance again, since it can become a reference in the area and even opt for a 2 star if they polish these things that are not unimportant. Unfortunately, and very much to my regret, I am going to give it 4 stars, and I am going to be harsher than in other restaurants in the hope that they can become the best in the Province...you can't make mistakes like that on an 85 euro menu + Michelin star drink!!! I encourage you to continue because the race is almost perfect, but yesterday if the Michelin guys come they puncture their tires.

Atalaya is a gastronomical restaurant with 1 Michelin Star located in Alcossebre, a Mediterranean coastal town in the CastellĂł Region. It is located near the main promenade in the coast and it is a small restaurant with a modern decoration. Also it has a terrace and we were here to have dinner. The staff was very friendly with us and they recommended us two excellent white wines from the region. We chose the gastronomical menu for dinner and it was fantastic. We could taste a lot of dishes, most of which were fresh fish on the local coast (excellent!). Some of them were oysters, prawns (gambes and llagostins), other seafood, mackerel, monkfish and fresh fish of the day. Also creamy rice. All of them with vegetables and sauces. Really awesome dinner! Also as dessert, we could taste local cheese, honey and petit fours. Excellent again!

Having seen that this restaurant was recently awarded a Michelin star we really wanted to try it. We were not disappointed. We booked through their website - which was really easy to follow. We went for the Bergetin menu. Each course was exceptionally well presented both in terms of the food and the table ware used. Husband and I really liked the artichoke course - neither of us had ever eaten it previously and it was a surprising flavour especially on the bed of cheese. A must try.

Second time at the restaurant. The first experience was wonderful but the second less. No surprise.same starters, snacks menu as October. I ordered from the menu in English and the poor waiter ( very nice) brought me pigs feet instead if the pork dish I had ordered. Not a lover of fatty meats I quickly pointed out the mistake. I finally got my main dish but unfortunately my husband had already finished and I did not enjoy mine as I had tasted the pigs feet thinking that it was the pork. The waiter apologized for his error several times but for me the dinner was ruined and for 110 euros. The chef should have offered a cup of tea or coffee on the house or even a dessert. But nothing. I may go back but fir a ride dish only during the day. Will try new restaurants in Alcossebre. Maybe less glam but for the price, better taste.i wanted to love the restaurant this time as much as the first time, but just couldn’t......

I have been visiting this restaurant since the opening; which I was thrilled to get invited to. This visit was by far the most uncomfortable. My Spanish is limited but my partner’s is not; quite the opposite During the evening we were poorly looked after by the front of house staff and we overheard their poor comments about us as clients!! We were rushed Every other table was provided with bread, we had to ask and felt our choice was deliberately limited The standard of the food was superb but the at table experience spoilt the evening

Superb. The full tasting menu was very, very good, with three superb courses - the crayfish, the ray and the day special of hake with a fennel risotto and aniseed foam. E130 including a lovely Spanish pinot noir (Barrus). Exceptional young staff, gracious, charming and knowledgeable. Lively and lovely room. Highly recommended.

Every time we come we see how they improve. A young, enthusiastic, hardworking, tenacious team made up of authentic professionals. We ordered the Bergantin menu made with various products from CastellĂłn and in the way that only a Michelin star restaurant is capable of doing. gastronomic experience to live not once but a thousand times.

We’ve been to Atalaya twice this year, the first visit was superb with truly exceptional food. The second visit was less successful, the langoustine dish had changed and wasn’t anywhere as good. The major problem for us is that the menu and wine list are only available through a QR code. On our second visit the food we were given was different to the online menu and the wine we had previously was no longer available. Trying to translate the online menu only to find something different in front of us was very confusing! Can we please have at least one printed menu and wine list for the table.

I have been visiting Atalya for years with friends and family. The food has always been amazing and still is! However, this time around we felt the service was a little off from some of the staff. We felt very rushed through the courses and felt we didn’t receive the same high level of service as our Spanish counterparts.

We chose the long tasting menu and it was delicious however we were sat for 4.5 hours. It was easy to find even though it is hidden away by the walled garden. The garden was romantically lit with a nice view of the church on the hill. The food was selected well and each dish was explained although in quite broken English (not their fault as we are in Spain). The food was presented beautifully and although small bites we were full after 14 courses. Was a fabulous but very long experience. Wine menu was like a bible and quite confusing. Not a cheap place to visit but worth it for a special occasion.

This was our second visit, the restaurant has had a complete renovation and looks fantastic. On our previous visit we had the 10 course menu, this time we opted for the Menú Bergantín 7 course menu. The food was wonderful again, our favourite this time was the Stingray. This isn’t a cheap restaurant but it is excellent value for money, if you are in Alcossebre we definitely recommend it.

My wife and I went to eat and being from CastellĂłn we "ate" pasta in the form of ice cream with honey and almond from Atzanera to Morella passing through Les Coves. We have enjoyed the sea, the beach and the saltpeter with aromas of citrus... we have eaten a bite of "un ximo" from Madalena, I only missed a little bit of the smell of gunpowder. Spectacular rice and tomato from Cap i Corp. All with a super young and professional team. My congratulations from this fifty-year-old from La Pobla Tornesa. Today I ate at home

A Recommended Fine Dining Fan Experience in the province of Castellón with some details to highlight with a reception that is not fully matured. School chairs and tables focused on the appetizer that are for children between 3 and 6 years old (very uncomfortable for an adult or elderly gentlemen who decided to go to the table directly). And an opening of wine that although it seems Pro and according to the type of restaurant, I did not like it. They didn’t open my wine in front of me, it went about 5-8 meters and half a glass was poured out of my reach. Already at the table began the dance that fortunately improved my experience. A menu based on 80% at sea and techniques and flavors worthy of the experience I sought.

Fabulous gastronomic experience and the treatment by the staff was exquisite. We will repeat for sure. Have you not gone yet? Well, book now, their website is super easy and comfortable. We celebrated my boyfriend's 50th birthday, and they gave him a candle to blow out and gave him a greeting card. I just have to thank the Atalaya team.
