Nice place & location, needs to improve the food .....

It's a good place situated outside Winterton. Good if you have smallish children with you. Service was good to start off with, tailed off with time and as it got a bit busier. The coffee was very good, arrived hot and taste was good, both for strength and flavour. Unfortunately, food did not match it. Ordered a savoury waffle that had bechamel sauce on it, asked to have only a small amount of sauce, which got translated to none! I'm sure the menu described it as coming with avocado, but it came with an avocado puree, you could perhaps describe it as guacamole, though not as viscous nor with the other ingredients of a proper guacamole. It also had bacon bits, which I'm convinced weren't cooked and so go scraped off. Wasn't particularly hot when it arrived either. My companion ordered a toasted sandwich, which wasn't great either. Suspect there isn't too much serious competition in the area. Get the food sorted and it could be great!!

Yummy waffles

Covid protocol was followed well, the tables were well separated. We had only the savory waffles and some drinks. There was a time of indecision when we were not sure to have pizza or waffle, by family voting we decided on waffle over pizza :-), and I must emphasize, the waffles were awesome. We bought some perfumed candles too from the adjacent handicraft store . There is a nursery on the property that sells a wide variety of saplings, there is a mini golf and few activities for kids and kids at heart.

Lunch with the family

I took my grandchildren for a lunch treat to the Waffle Hut. They have a mixture of savoury and sweet waffles and pancakes . Should you prefer a Pizza , you can order from the Pizza Hut which is on the same property ! Something for everyone ! Delicious Cappuccinos , Milkshakes. The hostess, Diane , is always there and works as hard as her staff ,leading from the front ! All Covid procedures were adhered to !

Awful manager and service

Today there was hair in our wraps. The manager comes out with her attitude and tells us that it's windy and that she will only give us a discount. We hardly ate the wrap and got given only a R30 discount. She was rude staff were unfriendly and slow and acted like they are doing us a favor serving us. And you could definately see that was a strand of hair in the food. But yeah. Very rude and cold place.

It sells what it says... Waffles!

The Waffle Hut sells waffles and they’re pretty good, we had the savory mince and then the caramel waffle. I don’t like soggy waffles, so I was served my waffle with the mince in a bowl, very nice! They sell toasted sandwiches, etc. too. Lovely playground for children. It was a great stop.

Delicious Waffles, Fast Service

The Waffle Hut is busy, when we arrived it was full, we had to wait a few minutes for a table. The wait was worth it, the service was fast and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered bacon and banana waffles which was full of flavour, the potion size was good. After having waffles we purchased candles from the store next door. There is a lovely playground for children. The atmosphere is great, perfect for a family day out in the countryside.

Stop over to champagne valley

Checked out of cathedral peak hotel giants castle throughWinterton stopped y Waffle hut. Huge upgrades since i was last here. Offer pizzas and waffles putt putt, playground for kids and....shopping. I purchased lovely aromatic oils some gifts like candles, home made cotton muffin holders, camouflageoutfits and hats. The waffle hut resturant stocks home made selected jams oils sauces...and home made ice cream. WORTH A STOP PEOPLE

The waffle hut is a must on the list to do at drakensburg

When in drakensburg this place 8s a must ...pizzas and waffles are very good Beautiful gardens, putt putt, ice creams, shopping and so much more I usually get my beautiful olive oil fused with chilli , lemon pepper etc. Lovely jams, honey and gifting. The shop has something for everyone. A must visit

Fantastic stopping place on a trip to the Drakensberg

Th Waffle Hut is an oasis between Winterton and Cathkin Peak on the R600. Situated in a magnificent garden which is also part of a nursery with lots of play equipment for children. We had pancakes and milkshakes while watching lots of weaver bird activity building numerous nests in one tree. One section of the restaurant focuses on pizzas. Just behind the restaurant is a crafts haven where mats are being woven together with an antique shop. Something for everyone

Fresh and creamy!

Visit the waffle house during our stay in Drakensberg. Best thing about the waffles...they are super fresh and the ice cream proper creamy ice cream...and loads of it! Great venue, easily accessible with more than enough parking. Will always make this a sure stop on a Drakensberg trip!

Shop for trinkets

Lovely collectables and gift ideas to choose from. An interesting collection of antiques to browse through. The gentleman was friendly and accommodating. I bought beautiful candles - but the service (by the lady owner, I think), not so beautiful. She kept us waiting while she finished what she was doing and left us standing in the store whilst she went out to assist a lady that wanted the gate opened so that they could leave in the helicopter! In hindsight, I should have left. We stayed to eat - our waffle was nothing to write home about.

Cold and dry food

Not really satisfied. Very dry and cold pancake with cold bobotie mince. Asked the waiter the heat up and she just smiled, said thank you and walked away. Definatelly overpriced for the qaulity food received.

A waffle experience that all talk about

Just outside Winterton on a road with not many potholes. The caramel and banana waffle is always a favorite! Enough seating in and outdoors and the curio and antique shops provides an opportunity to stretch your legs. The candles are beautifully made with lots of stock available. It is a bucket list place to visit at least once.

Light meals and lovely shops

Lovely light meals of good quality. Not only waffles are on offer. Try their breakfast or hamburgers. Lovely little shops, pizza restaurant and a nursery on site. We had an early dinner just before they closed.

Nice stop for family along

Nice stop for family along the R600. Short drive from Drakensberg Sun and Champagne sports. Nursery to buy some plants, trampoline and small zipline for kids, gift shop and pizza restaurant on the same property.
