A pet friendly clay café situated in the foothills of the Drakensberg. Roots offers a unique space where you can browse through our gift shop, thrift shop or enjoy healthy eats. We pride ourselves with our freshly pressed juices, healthy smoothies and award winning coffee. The perfect spot for family bonding time, date or birthday celebrations. For the little ones we have an outdoor play area and also their own mini kiddies menu. Come and select from a variety of ceramics to paint and tap into your creativity.

I love coming here, it's my favorite stop in Winterton. With all the different options you can choose from a hearty breakfast to a delicious and refreshing smoothie, you will be satisfied. The staff is also very friendly and helpfull, I love painting at roots aswell as buying all their delicious goodies and accessories.
Definitely worth your while to stop there!

Roots clay Cafe was definitely a breath of fresh air. From the friendly informative staff to the oh so delicious food 🤤 and not forgetting their fresh pressed juice. My sister and I went there for a quick meal which ended up lasting 2 hours because we were so comfortable. Super affordable and beautiful. Definitely going back to paint on clay with all my siblings this time 😅

This is one of the places that keeps inviting one over and over again.. delicious food.. excellent service..great atmosphere
It’s suitable to everyone alike.. from business people, children, teenagers, housewives catching up over coffee.. it’s a befitting name for the place.. one becomes rooted to it!

Fabulous coffee and eats! Lovely interior...modern, clean, great place to visit. We went twice. BOTH times excellent. Love the plant boxes outside and the decor inside. CLEAN modern bathroom too.

What a lovely place. Needed urgent breakfast enroute to Underberg. Staff are very friendly and made us feel at home. We enjoyed a great breakfast

I just love going to Roots for my regular cappachino. Warm and cozy. Pottery painting with friends or family is such a joy.

This place is beautiful!! Stunning food, service and location! Definitely worth the visit. Amazing place for friends and family to meet up and paint your own ceramics! So refreshing and exciting.

Our family loved our afternoon spent at Roots. We each painted some pottery and the coffee and cake was delicious. Such a wonderful space to relax at.
