Our Vintage Car Group, Old Toeters Newcastle, had breakfast on 18 May 2024. Even though the breakfasts were tasty, it was especially small. The hash brown was the size of an old R1 coin. The waitress jumbled the invoice 4 times. She invoiced 5 cup...capes in stead of 50, forgot all the drinks, and add 2 maxi breakfasts as well as several drinks that was not consumed. Please check your invoices and if you are hungry, stay awayMore

Love the beautiful upgrades to the bakery grounds since our last visit 2 years ago, but what a very disappointing experience. We waited an hour and a half for 2 toasted cheese sandwiches and 3 pies. Previous times, the pies were presented differently, but here...we were charged R50 for a pie that we could have ordered at the local Engen for half the price, and it took over an hour to serve it. The waiting staff was not attentive and not particularly friendly. It used to be a nicer place when it was less 'pretty' and there were chickens freely roaming the grounds.More

Great spot but extremely busy. Recommend going before closing to enjoy it more if for coffee/tea or cake, however most things from the bakery would be sold out by that time. Enjoyed the paintings on the wall and the garden. Children friendly.

For my visit to The Valley Bakery I made a list of goodies to buy and also to get a pie as a take-away, but the four pies left were burned and the cashier laughed when I told her. The sourdough ciabatta (R45) is like...a solid piece of bread with NO large air holes in. I honestly think this place is a bit overrated for what they offer. Sorry, next time I'll look somewhere else!More

Been coming to the Valley Bakery for the past +20 years, when they started baking and selling bread and pastries 🍰 from a hatch attached 😋 to the kitchen of their small home. We have allways supported the Valley Bakery when coming down from JHB....We were extremely disappointed 😞 yesterday stoping at the bakery at 14h30 to find the they did not even have bread rolls, lemon meringue, milk tart 😢 on a Friday afternoon. I always try to remember were I come from and the people that supported me to get were I am. The Valley Bakery has grown from strength to strength over the years to quite a large establishment. I found the attitude to be a Poor Show, like "sorry for you we are sold out" We are big and well established, so we don't need your business 😉 This is when most timeshare owners come and sheck-in to their units. Very disappointed 😞 at the could not care less attitude. This attributes to bad management.More

If you are in the area this is a place you must try out. We had bread and quiche to take home that was fantastic. On our way back to JHB we stopped in for breakfast and although we were there as they opened we...had great food and were on our way in 35 minutes. Service is very good and their baked goods are to die for.More

Had a great breakfast at the bakery. Was a bit disappointed that French toast didn’t at least have a little bacon, but otherwise very nice. Lots of building work going on at the moment, changing the garden and seating area. But still operational and very...quick and efficient service.More

Will not visit again. Waste off time. They did not really want to serve a family if 7 on a sit down meal;seemed okay for you to buy and leave. Ordered pies and was told it will take 30 minutes,so we decided to wait and...have it in the restaurant. Was assisted with a table after enquired. 20 minutes sitting at the table,no service for even coffee;yet others were served with drinks and meals. Then went to enquire on pies; we were then told that the oven was not working. Nobody seemed interested and did not care to Inform us or even take our drinks order. After looking around, felt very out off place.Left and never looked back. Will not visit again.More
