My husband and I was coming from Durban and wanted to stop at a quaint little estaurant for good breakfast and ambience. We saw this cute little place and thought here we will have a good breakfast, wow! Were we disappointed. I am in the...catering business myself so I also know how long it take for food to hecome lukewarm. When the lady brought our food it was lukewarm, very little for the enormous price we paid as well plus we ordered a large cappucchino(creamachino) that we didn't know will be so pricy R70, there was very little cream on top and not even whipped. They put NO effort into taking extra care, there was no one in the restaurant when we arrived so plenty of time to make it special. It really spoiled our morning. Check your Staff that took forever to bring the meal(that was why I believe it was lukewarm ) and please offer a good decent size breakfast and train your Staff how to serve a warm breakfast please.More

Looked interesting from the outside but was a bit disappointed with the menu and food . Enquired about the scones and was told it was 4 days old ! Rather check before ordering to avoid disappointment.

A family oriented farmstyle environment, perfect for breakfast and light lunches! We had the pancakes and they were delicious and good value for money. The staff were also very friendly.

Stopped off for lunch after a visit to Winterton. A most relaxing atmosphere with really good food. Portions were more than sufficient to fill a hungry stomach. Staff were friendly and service quick even though fairly busy. Will definitely stop there again when in the...area.More

Wonderful farmstall and restaurant, conveniently located on the Winterton main road. The breakfast menu has some real gems - you’ll struggle to decide between the Benedict and Farmhouse!

Stunning setting with a wrap around porch and plenty to keep you occupied. The Pig n Plough is conveniently located right in Winterton, and en route to the Northern Berg. International Flags wave you in and there is a friendly vibe in the air. We...ordered their special, and shared the pork and chicken schnitzel. We loved the crunchy and succulent flavours accompanied with a side of fresh salad from their veggie garden. Our waitress was wonderfully friendly and efficient. While the kids were playing and enjoying the farmyard, we took a squiz around. There is plenty of fascinating history on the walls, old machines and tractors to to enjoy and a wonderful ambience in the garden. Not to mention the surprise choo choo train! Highly recommended. We look forward to making this our regular pitstop!More

Situated at the edge of Winterton, this rustic looking venue offers a visitor a chance to sit in their lovely garden area and relax or inside the shop with their lovely array of spices, oils and preserves. As the inside had aircon we chose to...sit there, which was very nicely decorated in the current style. Luckily we did not mind the shoppers who browsed between the tables placed next to the shop shelves. Our waitress who served us, Esther, was very friendly when we arrived and when we left but seemed very indifferent to us while we were seated and served. For our lunch we ordered a Chicken Pot Pie and a Hearty Beef and Ale Pie. Both pies were elegantly presented in 3 legged potjies (with the pastry baked and dipped in the filling on top) and were filled to the brim. The chicken pieces were nice and chunky and very filling with the creamy sauce and vegetables. The beef was equally delicious, with the beef being soft and falling apart. As the potjie kept its heat, it reduced the sauce inside and created a lovely intense reduction with the beef. Both dishes were served with some chips.More

A great environment to sit with friends/family, especially in summer, and just enjoy the great weather while having a well prepared meal. The menu is filled with many great options, but I'd highly recommend trying any of the pizzas
