We welcome you to come to Flavours Restaurant, where the team bring you a selection of our favorite food from around the world. Please note that booking is essential, especially for evenings, Sunday lunches and holidays. Restauranteur, Ingrid Formo bought into Flavours Restaurant in 2007, drawing influences from various international travels and working in various restaurants and hotels overseas. This ensures that Flavours reflects a blending of many cultures and influences, integrating traditional recipes and utilizing homemade and local produce. The focus is on freshness and quality by using the freshest ingredients available locally; real butter, olive oil, fresh herbs and grinding our own spices to produce better dishes. We look forward to seeing you!

Unanticipated gem

With lock-down restrictions we were looking for a restaurant to enjoy a meal prior to a memorial service. By chance we came across Flavours which exceeded all our expectations. All 4 meals were outstanding and arrived simultaneously. Ingrid, the owner, was very thoughtful regarding the service and our visit. We were thoroughly impressed.

What a little gem!

We dropped in for lunch whilst on a four day stay in Ramsgate. As we were planning a big dinner at our cottage close by, we both opted for two starters each. My wife had the special of Tempura Prawns served on a bed of avo and ripe papaya - she was ecstatic! Then onto the Brinjal stack which she also rated highly. I started with an off the board special of snails in phyllo pastry with a mild creamy mozzarella sauce - to die for! I then had the Thai spicy prawn soup, another winner. We finished by sharing the an amazing off the board dessert special. I wished we had returned on the Sunday but my wife said we should try somewhere else - that unfortunately ended in total disaster! We will definitely be back!!!

What an amazing experience of superb food. Unexpectedly blown away. The duck spring rolls, the snails in phyllo and deboned oxtail in puff pastry - starters that were truly delicious. Superb menu (despite slightly down scaled to to Covid constraints) as well as blackboard specials made for a memorable meal, rounded off with ginger brandy snaps and chocolate eclairs that were heavenly. Don’t miss this gem on the South Coast.

Terrible customer service.

Just had a very disappointing Christmas Eve dinner. Don’t recommend this restaurant at all. It would have been absolutely no problem if they had handled the situation professionally and apologetically but there was no accommodation made for the 2hour wait for our food and no acknowledgment for the terrible customer service. Additionally, the only of two options available for vegetarians was a very average and over priced vegetable platter :/ so disappointing.

Lovely dinner in a warm and happy restaurant

We had a wonderful dinner at Flavours with friends. On booking we were told that there was a large table booked that evening and service might be slow. This left me worried but in fact the service was perfect. Friendly, warm and professional. The menu is lovely and our food was delicious. And to make things better the guests at the large table turned out to be warm and friendly and we ended up with quite a party atmosphere. Just booked to go again this week.

Gourmet cuisine

Gourmet doesn't mean expensive. It's not. We ate there 2 of the 8 nights we were on holiday. Sadly it was closed on Sunday evening else it would have been 3 times. Every one of our 5 choices was delicious. You just gotta go and experience the best cuisine we have enjoyed in the 45 years we have been holidaying in Ramsgate/Southbroom

Wonderful food, lovely Chef/Owner. We have a holiday home down in Uvongo on the South Coast of KZN. We make a point of going to eat at Flavours Restaurant in Ramsgate whenever we are down there. This restaurant is definitely one of the best casual "Fine Dining" restaurants that we have been to. The food is excellent, the Chef/Owner is lovely and so is the staff. i give this restaurant an 11 out of 10.

Saturday night supper

A rather unexpected (for us) gem of a restaurant. First time visit to the south coast and we fancied a nice dinner. The menu, although not large, was filled with dishes that we wanted to try, even before we heard the specials! The food was beautifully prepared and very tasty. The service was excellent and not intrusive at all. The grilled kingklip was a highlight. I had the oxtail pasty as a starter and can understand why it's so popular with the locals! The venue us a converted house with art works on the walls that are mostly for sale. P.S. the music Playlist could have been compiled with me in mind! Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Still amazing after all these years

We have owned a holiday apartment in Ramsgate for 25 years and have, from time to time gone to Flavours for dinner. We hadn't visited for a while before Covid, so Friday was our first time in about 4 years. We were delighted to note that it is still as good as ever. We sat on the verandah, which had a lovely breeze on a hot, summer night. Mike and Ingrid were attentive without being intrusive and the ambience was delightful. The menu is varied and aims to offer the sort of dishes not found in most other restaurants, leading my husband, (who usually has calamari starters), to venture out on something he'd never tried before and thought amazing. Our choices were all simply outstanding. Flavours is an appropriate name! Although not cheap, this restaurant is well worth it for a special evening and ticked all the boxes for us. Hats off to Ingrid for keeping her staff paid during the lockdown and for maintaining such high standards of food and service. We definitely will be back in the future and can't recommend Flavours highly enough.

A wonderful South Coast favourite, this restaurant is unpretentious but the quality is top draw ... delicious, stylish and wow!! I had a delicious Chicken Supreme, others had Kingklip, venison.... everyone raved!

A must in Ramsgate

We hadn’t been to Flavours for a year or so. The food is still amazing. The menu is extensive and always includes specials. Ingrid is always present making sure everything runs smoothly. Ingrid handled a difficult situation so well with some customers who persisted in trying to vape in the restaurant after they had been told not to smoke! We will most certainly be back. As always one must get the salmon bomb starter and the chocolate fondant dessert. And I must admit I invariably order the duck.😊

As always the food was wonderful. Chocolate fondant dessert was particularly amazing. The reviews are saying Ingrid only chats with certain tables. This evening I observed her closely as the restaurant was quite empty. There were six tables the night we visited. Ingrid patronized only one table the entire evening. Very cursory visits to a couple of others. Body language showed she wanted to leave from them the second she engaged. Mike who has worked there for about seven years gave his time equally to all customers. We have always loved your restaurant, and try to visit several times during each trip to Ramsgate. We felt the disparity in the time you gave to this table was inappropriate and will affect your business as time goes forward. You have such a super menu prepared beautifully, so it is a shame.

Best meal on South coast

We were lucky enough to get a booking at Flavours. It is always a favourite when we are in the area but this time was exceptional. Had the starter of dick spring rolls which were superb. Nice and crisp outside and juicy inside. My wife had the prawn starter special and it was out of this world. Mains we had the pork belly. This is my favourite meal and I have had it all over the world. Reubens in Franschhoek was the best but now overtaken by flavours!! You need to book this when you book as takes a long time to cook. My wife had kingklip which was also great. We did not need desert but saw brandy snaps. Stunning!! Also had the gooey chocolate delight. Sublime. Overall one of the best meals I have had in memory. There was nothing that could be improved upon. This is a seaside restaurant but the food is Parisian in style and quality. Highly recommend

Fabulous Flavours

The staff are very welcoming, courteous and efficient. The Moroccan lamb dish and Thai chicken and prawn was divine. The starter prawn on avo and papaya is scrumptious. The chicken supreme was fantastic. 9/10 for each meal. After a long day, our dinner was the best pick-me-up. Highly recommend. Wil defintely return whenever possible. Thanks staff of Flavours.

Great food in garden setting

Loved our evening meal last Thursday, with attentive staff and delicious specials. Chose this restaurant after seeing it's rated no 1 on Trip Advisor and it certainly deserves a high rating. Much enjoyed.
