Food wasn't too bad, we were talked into the "buffet", big mistake. Should have had more variety on the eggs, and the added extra tomato was extremely expensive.

We are always met with such friendly greetings in this Bushveld restaurant. The buffet breakfast was yummy. I love the open environment with old traffic signs theme. I have had breakfast or lunch here on a few occasions and have never been disappointed.

Delicious food and super goodies to purchase. Will keep going back. There is food from breakfast to early supper. Something for everyone. As I say we keep going back, we have already taken our family there aswell.

Bela Bela is somewhat deficient in the food arena so slim pickings had us visiting Toeka se Dae en route to Mabula based solely on the reviews on this site. Easily accessible from the road and hard to miss. The large open shed is decorated...with kitsch farming and road paraphernalia. If sitting on recycled metal or tyre chairs and eating off recycled road signs is an experience you'd like to enjoy - surrounded by very dusty, and dare I propose, dirty and ancient "artefacts" -you've found yourself a destination. And if fried food is your food of choice well this would add to your delight. We found we liked neither. Basically a toasted sandwich, vetkoek and burger kinda joint. And everything with chips. The restaurant was quite full and the patrons appeared to be happy so we were obviously the contrarians. Toeka plays on being a stereotype. And this certainly appeals to the tourist market. I'll stop there again. But only to buy a cold Magnum ice cream.More

The service was excellent. Great vibe with local and international tourist hanging around. The gift/curio shop is huge with many local products. The tinned duck pate I bought was probably the best I ever had. There are many other venison pates, jams, preserves and local...art available.More

We stopped for lunch on our way from Polokwane to Pretoria. The restaurant is conveniently located close to the N1. I enjoyed the Pap and Kaiings, which is quite rare to find at other places.

We stopped to get the famous fresh baked plaas brood and enjoy a coffee and pudding - the service is always friendly and efficient in the farm stall/shop and restaurant. The coffee was very good and the malva pudding and custard portion (we shared one)...was really big and delicious!More

The shop has some interesting things to buy in terms of preserves and gifts. The fresh food shop is a waste of time and the restaurant very below par. I ordered vetkoek with cheese and syrup. It seemed as though it was one that had...been frozen and then neuked in the microwave. It was chewy and tasteless. Not at all good. My husband had a very underwhelming jaffel, but he said the chips were nice. The stop sign as a table makes you feel a bit repulsed as it does not look clean. Some of there decor is interesting and quirky, but most of it is just old junk that looks rather jucky. Not really worth going there at all but not much else to do in Bela Bela anyway.More

Very enjoyable and a great place for the kids to play as well. Loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious, especially the Boerkoffie (condensed milk coffee). Waiter was polite and attentive, food was fast and the shop had nice variety

Quaint restaurant filled with treasures from the past. It is like a museum bringing back great childhood memories. The food is good and the service excellent. A fun place to visit on your way to and from Mabalingwe Game Reserve.

This is a fantastic 'padstal' with good service and good food. As an elderly person I was a bit concerned about the lack of Covid precautions - social distancing etc. But it was very, very busy.... and there is a lot of natural ventilation... but...still would have felt a bit safer with more precautions.More
