I arrived for the first in Brittania Bay. I was hungry and decided on JP's. Understanding now I've never heard of JP's, I had no idea what to expect. I wasn't beaten up! Instead I got the warmest greetings from everyone in the restaurant and...bar. JP and Angie are amazing hosts. Friendly, accommodating and warm. The staff and service is something I was not used to. Now for the food - every dish I had and continue to have is freshly made from scratch. Lulu I fell in love with. She will give Gordon Ramsay a good go! For anyone visiting the West Coast, a trip to JP's is a must. Simply summed up - the food is top notch. The prices are good value for money. The atmosphere is what we as visitors make of it. Everything about this beautiful stunning place is awsome. Step into JP'S when you're here. And stay a while like I did! I never stopped coming back since. No, I'm not on the books, I just love places that exude casual class. Pet friendly, everything friendly except Giraffes and elephants. You have to love this played down super place. Enjoy the West Coast. Enjoy it more with a visit to JP's. Number one foodies on the West Coast with serious culinary skills behind JP and Angie, the owners. Well done guys. Love this place always. ❤️More

JP's does not look like much from the outside, don't judge this book by its cover. The food is stunning (Best seafood we had on the West Coast), the service is friendly and exceeds expectations. If you don't stop here at least once, you are...missing out on a fabulous West Coast experience. Will go there again and again, will actually travel to the West Coast again just to experience the great food and atmosphere of JP's.More

This is not 'fine dining' but it is really good and plentiful, tasty food in a fun, very rustic venue. The staff couldn't do more for us in a sincere friendly manner. It really was a pleasure being there. To be picky, the base of...my otherwise very good pizza wasn't cooked quite enough towards the centre but I still awarded 5 stars for the overall experience. After starters, mains and sweets we waddled back to the car thinking of an excuse to visit again asap.More

From the outside, you don’t quite know what to expect of JP’s. Once inside we were greeted with a warm welcome. Aside from food, there is a small friendly bar in which you can also dine. The food is fresh, well prepared with the freshest...of ingredients. Very reasonably priced too. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.More

We visit the restaurant for a evening dinner with our family. Food was amazing. Pizza unbelievable tasty. We could bring our own good quality wine with and only paid a small fee. Lovely fish. And friendly staff. Do not worry how the restaurant looks from...the outside. This place is a jewelry in the area.More

We were a group of 4 on on of many return visits to Shelley Point. We ate at JP's Bistro all 3 nights we were there as they are the best in town and we had no motivation to travel further afield. We all had...steak the first night - superb, hake and chips the second night - I haven't eaten fish as fresh and good as this in many years, and the third night some had burgers and others prawns. All were EXCELLENT. Service May be a little slow but what's the hurry - charming friendly staff and a welcoming place in which to spend a couple of hours. They are licensed but charge a minimal corkage fee of only R20 if you bring your own wine. Thanks to the whole team - we will be back again.More

I walked in and waited for 4 minutes before the waitress came to me. She was the only staff with a mask and that was mostly om her chin, below the mouth. As I waited to be seated there was 6 people at 2 tables....While I waited to order and then waited for my food the place filled up. The waitress had 9 tables (30 people) plus takeaway's and pizzas. The takeaway's and pizzas was busy so the seated customers waited for service. I had the seafood parcel (hake, calamari strips and 2 prawns with chips). The chips and calamari was good. The hake was very flat. I would not recommend the prawns. My lemon water hand wash came when I finished the meal and was cleaning or trying to clean my hands with the serviette. I went there because of the good reviews.More

I visited JP's with a friend, and we both had the fillet steak with sauce. From the first bite it was evident that the chef had real pleasure in preparing the food, has excellent cullinary skills, and prepared everything from scratch. Wow, what a meal!...The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce out of this world! I also really enjoyed the chips that were not oily and spiced well. To top it off we had dessert. My friend had the brownie (absolutely yummy) and I had the dom pedro. We received excellent and friendly service throughout. I highly recommend JP's, and will definitely be back!More

Our party of 4 had hake, Chicken Schnitzel and the Navigators parcel. My hake was absolutely fantastic, the lady's had the Chicken schnitzel and said it was the best ever. My brother-in-law had the parcel - his comment was that it was one of the...best meals he had in a long time. It was clear that everything was freshly prepared (it takes a while as does most quality things). The prices are also very reasonable. This unassuming place deserves to get lots of support. JP and his team is doing an outstanding job.More

We weren't sure where to eat for lunch while we stayed in St Helena Bay. We wanted an inexpensive lunch to share. Had a hake & chips and ordered another chips, as they where really nice. Hake was fresh and not oily. The kind chef...decided that our lunch was on the house. Can't believe what good people work here.More
