About
Padlangs is located 7.5km from Patensie on the R331, en route to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area, and located in the tranquil Gamtoos Valley. In September 2016 we moved to our brand new premises (500m from our old location). We now have a water splashpad, giant garden chess set, play area for children with a bike track, outside shower for cyclists, and a stunning view of the Gamtoos Valley. Great Food is still on the menu. #Slowfood #Slowzone #Countryfeeling

On our way home from baviaanskloof we decided to stop at padlangs for a quick lunch. What a great decision. The food was delicious and value for money. We enjoyed a beautiful little garden setting with some delicious drinks and food. The service was fantastic and we enjoyed our visit so much.... Thank you to the team at Padlangs. We will be back!

Do not stop there if you're in a hurry to eat & go. The food takes time to prepare as it is all done from scratch, but definitely worth the wait. The small shop has a lot of interesting things to browse through while waiting

Excellent curry and bobotie, perfect for a very cold day! Service very slow as 2 large tables arrived at the same time... No management in evidence to help servers. Enjoyable meal. Will revisit when in the area again!

My friend and I had lunch at Padlangs recently and the food is really great. It is worthwhile taking a trip out to Patensie and having lunch here. We loved the quaint decor at the shop and the rustic ambiance. The service is friendly and efficient and we both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Well worth a visit. The only thing that put me off a bit was the sign at the entrance to the restaurant that says "customers who seat themselves will not be served". I thought that to be unacceptable, as not everyone would see the sign on the floor....but other than that, it's a lovely place, with tasty food.

Nice place for a lunch. Excellent menu and nice atmosphere. The place is great for kids as it has a swing and creative old stuff (old gas station etc, mini kitchen) to play with. It also has a nice store with lots of curiosa.

We were met with smiles all around. All though you are told to be patient with food orders as everything is freshly prepared, we were served quickly and both enjoyed our quiche and salad. This meal is a nice light meal, for the hungry there are many other options including venison pie. Visiting before my husband had the best calamari and salad as main meal that he has ever had. This was a nice day outing from St Francis Bay. The premises are moving close by soon and I hope the country ambience will be retained.

An average farm stall and restaurant. There are so many overseas tourists that it looses it charm of being a quant, south african farm stall. I think more effort could have been made for valentines day. Food and service average... I believe that Weg rated it amongst the best in the country but to be honest I dont know why... :-(

A kids paradise with all kinds of sweets. Lovely milkshakes and they have a great beans soup with roosterkoek. What a lovely outing.

A must stop for lunch while in the area - fabulous and extensive menu with familiar and unfamiliar offerings - highlights - Camembert and Fig Spring rolls, Steak and chips (amazing sauce and fresh cut potatoes) and simple salad and toast. Large outdoor rating area with real character. Enjoy the shade, smelling the citrus blossoms and chat as you wait for food cooked from scratch.

Went there from Jeffreys Bay for Sunday lunch with guests visiting from Bloemfontein. Unfortunately the standard of food and service was so bad that it left me with a red face after extolling the virtues to my friends beforehand. The staff was sullen and after we complained about the poor quality of the food, they became even more so. After complaining by email to the owner no response have been received, which perhaps is an indication of their attitude. How WEG could rate it so high beats the imagination....

We went on a Saturday cruise into the country and stopped at this little jewel packed with old things, a wide variety of jams and preserves, cookies, ginger beer and lovely gifts. The restaurant had a wide variety of traditional cuisine. The food we've ordered was delicious and freshly prepared and they claim they have the best chips in the eastern cape - and that was true!!!Their Spinach, Feta and Bacon tramezzini was the best I have ever eaten and the grill platters that the other have ordered was also good presented and tasty. The rooibos tea came with a beautiful cup and the teapot serves two cups. The staff was friendly and helpful and I can recommend this restaurant if you want to have a fresh, tasty home cooked meal.

We stopped at "Padlangs padstal" on our way to the Kouga Dam, For many travelers this is the last refreshing point before the Baviaanskloof. The staff were very friendly and we find the layout of the shop and restaurant appealing. All the signs, with "clever quotes" were a little overwhelming. The seats inside and outside were comfortable and one get the feeling of relaxing days gone by. However, the food is not up to standard. We had quiche and venison pie. The venison pie was dry and tasteless although the food presentation looks very classy. I believe the owner who started the place (as a personal dream), should get a serious talk with her kitchen staff! I must say the coffee cups were big and... very delicious.

Just an average over priced, underwhelming stop on the road. It's lovely, but no more lovely than any other one. If you pass by and need to eat stop, sure. Just don't go specifically to it.
