About
Padlangs is located 7.5km from Patensie on the R331, en route to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area, and located in the tranquil Gamtoos Valley. In September 2016 we moved to our brand new premises (500m from our old location). We now have a water splashpad, giant garden chess set, play area for children with a bike track, outside shower for cyclists, and a stunning view of the Gamtoos Valley. Great Food is still on the menu. #Slowfood #Slowzone #Countryfeeling

Friendly lively staff. Great food and floats and coffee (the milkshake machine was unfortunately broken). Pleasant play area for kids. Nice sweets and other farm/homemade products in a small shop...not overcrowded at all with stuff. Parking can be a problem....maybe they can ask the church directly next to the stall for usage of their big parking space when really busy.
They don't have any problem to serve adults from the kiddies menu if that adult is not so hungry. Thanks for this.
Come early because around lunch it is really popular with families with kids due to the big area where kids can play safely will parents can relax with something cool while keeping an eye over them. Nice area with water streams coming from below for the kids to play in. Big grass area.

Beautiful setting and open spaces for kids. Service was okay. Food was really disappointing. Food was cold and one of the biggest sins for any decent restaurant is the use of pre prepared chicken wings. I am sure you guys can do better than that.

We visited during late summer and enjoyed a late lunch this lovely ‘padstal’. We were welcomed warmly and seated in the lush garden. With a beautiful view of the Gamtoos Valley, we savoured delicious dishes - fragrant and abundant. The dishes were attractively presented and ample in portion. Cold water with ice for our dog too! The service was outstanding

We spent 45 minutes waiting for a waiter who never came after being seated.Two tables next to us experienced the same non existing service. Not even a drink could be ordered. One person dressed in a waiter outfit pounced around like a butterfly and point blank refused to get anyone anything promising a waiter would attend upon us. We eventually left with the two tables following to experience the best service and lunch at the nearby Tolbos restaurant. Try for yourself if you don't believe me. Alternatively just go to Tolbos restaurant and have a super great experience.

The place is funky, with some funny decors displayed. Much of a family vibe.
The food is very traditional south African...
I had a venison pie with salad. Excellent and in good portion (it was my dinner as well). I had the chocolate cake for desert - not my thing, but might be good for other people.

Do you know what its like when you walk into a restaurant and it is so welcoming and friendly that you wonder if they think you are King Charles or someone famous ? That is what Padlangs is like and the waitress had the loveliest smile i haver ever seen ! And the food is great ! We both had scrambled egg and mince on a croissant and it was delicious ! Very relaxing with children's playground ! A really Great place to visit ! 100/100

Having been given rave reviews, and driven 250kms to enjoy the experience, our arrival was aesthetically in line with our expectations.
Sadly, once our order had been placed, we had to wait an hour in spite our many enquiries. The food arrived and we still had to request cutlery!
To our horror, our serving was cold. It appears that our order was placed on the side and “forgotten about”!
Senior staff were indifferent to our complaint.

We made a booking. When we arrived, literally nobody helped us. We got our own menus but had no waiter. We finally asked for a waiter... that was the eordt part. Slow service. Waited for two hours for our food. Food was cold.
Never again.

Super service, friendly and efficient. Food pretty good! My burger patty was amazing, avocado slightly green though. Chicken salad was delicious and a fantastic portion. Worth the trip!

When travelling in this area, this is a good place to grab something to eat. There are lots of save parking and a big playground for kids. The food was good, but the restaurant was under-staffed and it took a long time for the food to come. However, the staff was friendly.

Very nice stop after driving through Baviaanskloof. Good menu and service, clean ablutions, nice lawn for kids to play and lovely views from seats and tables under huge shady trees. Also inside seating for inclement weather There is also a craft shop

There is great well presented local fare in a setting overlokking the valley with polite service and plenty to do for the kids. They also have craft beer all at a reasonable price
