The owner was very rude to us upon arrival. Seriously the place is amazing but receiving and treating customers like this is not acceptable. We didnt even get to eat and we left the restaurant with our guest, if the owner doesnt appreciate having customers...he doesnt deserve to have any client. And please try not to delete my post because i will just post another one.More

Four of us had a window seat overlooking the sea for a midweek lunch. The food was very good. We had a vegetarian in our group and that’s not easy to cater for in Brittany but this place had a vegetarian set meal. The meal...that arrived for her was not the one on the menu (instead of mushroom soup it was some cream cheese dish and the risotto was not as advertised either) but it was good and thoroughly enjoyed. The Églefin (haddock i think) was superbly cooked and the highlight of the meal and the duckling was tender and moist. The service was attentive and the staff charming.More

My second visit to Le Vivier. Superb. I cannot fault anything. From the friendly welcome by the maitre'd (owner) to the final brandy we all had a wonderful experience. The food and wine selection is excellent. I had exceptional oysters with a crisp Sancerre followed...by a extremely tasty John Dory fillet, again with a Sancerre but more rounded. A selection of desserts finished the meal on a high. All wines recommended by the maitre'd and great value for money. I recommend you time the visit to be before sunset and to request a window table - the views are magnificent. The restaurant is a real gem and can get crowded - so I recommend booking, whatever day you are visiting. The restaurant is part of a small hotel, stay there it is fantastic.More

We chose from the menu selection and weren't disappointed. Next time we'll choose from one of the set menus to experience more of their skills. Great service but found the decor very stark. Classy atmosphere. When in Brittany choose from the excellent fish selection!
