17/05/13Customer NameAlma & Bruno Herzog thought it was about time to drop a line of recognition after all the wonderfull meals we had with you. The staff of Amore (and especially the chef/owner Marin) are truely devoted to their job. It is a rare thing that you will never ever get disapointed when you visit a certain restaurant regulary. Amore is one of those rare ones. Whatever we had was exellent and could be seved in the best places anywhere. One of the dishes I always fall in love again is the Linguini with the best seafood you could expect in a pasta dish. The squids are absolutly divine tender (rare to find anywhere else), the mussles and shrimps of the higest quality

Gorgeous waterside location might warrant something a bit more commercial and devoted to turning tables, but this old-fashioned Italian offers a manageable menu with some interesting options and our light lunch on a Saturday was a winner. We just had a couple of starters. a...beer and a coffee but the food was tasty and authentic, the coffee will put hairs on your chest, and the service was kind and friendly, even though staff numbers were a little on the low side so you might have to be prepared for a bit of a wait. With such a lovely view to enjoy, just sit back and make the most of the wait.More

Fabulous little restaurant right by the river. Best location in town. Service and food really good. Booked for next month too!! 😊

Have noted the latest Review and feel it is a little harsh, though I do agree similar food and drink elsewhere in the town are less expensive but they don't have the ambiance. Covid was in force and adhered to. The tables were laid with...crisp white cloths with matching napkins.. My wife and I had two courses and a drink each. The food was well cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. We think with a little downward adjustment of prices will entice more customers and result in this prime spot becoming the must go to restaurant in the town. Despite the prices, we will return, but perhaps not as often as we would likeMore

Food over priced ranging between £10 and £30 for a main. Very limited menu compared to othe Italian resturaunts. £10 main comprised boiled penne pasta and a dolop of pesto sauce, a few olives chucked in and a bit of parmesan on top. Could have...made the same thing at home for under a pound. Other mains were "OK" but tiny portions. Lager beer was £4.50 a bottle (almost £9 per pint), Room was like your Nans front room with 12 diners cramned in with no social distancing and no sign in. Won't be going againMore

Booked a table on the recommendation of a member of staff in a local pub. No problem booking a table for an evening meal, social distancing was managed well. Menu choice was varied, and resulting choices were delicious and well presented. Value for money was...very reasonable. Would use again.More

Called in for a Drink as they had outside seating. Probably the best position in St Ives and I hope it expands now people have found it. Very polite owners.

Well, what can I say!! Such a superb restaurant. The ambience, the food. Wow! I had a risotto and my friend had a linguine. We were both impressed. The service was unhurried and although relatively busy, was excellent. Prices were good too. Looked like a...good selection of wines too. Shame I was driving, so couldn't have more. I would recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed. To top it off, when you exit onto the quay, you get a fabulous view of the St Ives bridge. 😊 We'll be back!More

Me and my mates were doing a UK trip from south to north and when we decided to stay in Cambridge, we decided to get food in St Ives. And OH MY GOD. Im just going to say that the food is out of this...entire world. Get the spaghetti Amore. They do it with prawns, mushrooms and chicken.More

We love this restaurant and we think it is the best in St Ives. Sadly when we were there for lunch on 11/10/20 two diners entered the premises not wearing masks. We were shocked to see that there was no instruction or request for customers...to do so. Indeed there were very few measures In place compared to other restaurants we have visited. This made us feel unsafe so despite wanting to support Amore, we shall not return until they take Covid more seriously.More

You can also park at the dolphin just over the river, it's £2 all day then walk over the bridge and it's on the river front.
