We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with friends while spending time in Tuscany. The restaurant is charming, the service is impeccable, and the food was well prepared. It's an experience to have your steak cut in front of you and cooked over a wood fire to your liking. The wine selection is extensive too. If you're in the area don't miss Locanda Amordivino for a lovely dining experience.

Reservations are required, there is a parking lot within walking distance just outside the city gate. Friendly welcome and good service. Atmospheric setting. Delicious regional food with good matching wines. We will definitely come back.

Our fourth visit and better than ever. Such a lovely and cosy atmosphere during the winter, full of locals celebrating the Easter weekend. They do the classics so well here, fried egg with truffle and fiorentina steak, with a fantastic Rosso di Montalcino (Salvioni), to die for! Grazie mille!

Locanda Amordivino was recommended to us by our host as one of the best restaurants in Asciano - so we had to try it. We made a reservation for very late dinner but anticipation forced us to show up an hour earlier - we were graciously accommodated. We loved the outdoor setting with cheerful lighting and a view on open grill with famous Florentine steaks grilling in clouds of smoke. Choosing wine from an extensive wine list was not an easy feat but with the Tornatore Etna Bianco selected we proceeded with food order. We had a platter of local cheeses with small samplings of jams and walnuts, followed by wild mushroom bruschetta to die for and beef tartar and finally 2 pasta dishes: truffled tagliatelle and cacio e pepe. The food was very tasty and the service was impeccable, a rare pleasure. We had an amazing evening and truly enjoyed the attention and care our waiter provider. We would go back without hesitation if in the area again.
One note - not sure about wheelchair accessibility, the entrance to the restaurant lead through a hallway and a flight of stairs. Also - smoking outdoors was permitted.

An elegant restaurant with excellent food and a great service. The wait staff were very helpful with the menu and recommended and excellent wine to pair with our food.

We had a nice evening there and enjoyed the food - the waiters were extremely helpful and their recommendations were good. But we missed some extraordinary taste, that little thing that makes it really special.
Other than that the quality was great and everything fresh and natural.
The ambiente was nice in the backyard garden.

My bf and I visited this restaurant while in Tuscany last month. A tour guide recommended it and was raving about the Fiorentina steak. It's a popular way to serve steak in Italy. I am a big fan of beef. I eat it often at home in the States, but we were not impressed with this preparation. Everyone talked about it melting in your mouth, but ours definitely didn't. It was very rare and very tough for the most part. Both of us typically eat our steak medium rare, so the rareness wasn't really the problem. The toughness was. But I will say, it was pretty fun to watch the guy hack off the giant cut of meat right in the front of the restaurant and then throw it onto the open grill.
We really enjoyed the ambiance of this restaurant. It was chilly inside but cozy and romantic inside. We had pasta with some sort of ragout (I think elk) that was amazing. And their tiramisu is spectacular. My bf said it's the best dessert he's ever had, and I would definitely put it in my top 10. Service was excellent. I would go back but would just avoid the steak.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the agriturismo owner, and how right she was! This is one of those few restaurants which ticks all the boxes. The service is exceptional, professional yet friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is on the fine dining spectrum yet the staff made us feel welcome even though we had a spirited 2 year old with us. Other patrons had a dog. As a starter I had the zucchini carbonara - literally to die for. As main we would have had the bistecca as it looked so appetizing but having had it the previous day, we opted for other options. I had the duck which was exceptional and the other persons in the party of 4 had steaks, which were really good and cooked as requested. For desert I had the ricotta mousse, truly outstanding. Not cheap but definitely the best restaurant at Asciano.

over four months a year we are living in our house close to the restaurant Amordivino. We had very good experiences in the past, but the last couple of times the personnel were very unfriendly! The open warm reception we were used to in Tuscany were completely ruined by the lady in charge of Amordivino. So if you choose good food and friendly service, go further into Asciano. La Mencia or another one are perfect too!

It is quite expensive but the meat is very good. With the waiter recommendation we ordered the steak Fiorentina (1,4 kg was the smallest piece which cost 67 EUR). It was really a lot of meat:)
The service was really good and wine as well. Thanks a lot for a good evening!

We were going to another restaurant however we could not get a table. Using Trip Advisor we found this restaurant down the street, it was a great find. The setting is contemporary Tuscan with a large open wood grill. The menu was not extensive, typical Tuscan, however, the food was very well prepared. We started with a tart of aubergine which was excellent, then for the main course we had theTagliata, sliced steak, cooked on the wood grill, one with honey and pine nuts the other with caramelized onions both were delicious, For dessert, we had a molten chocolate cake and pastry puffs with cream and chocolate. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It is not often I wish to give an even higher rating....definitely a 5++ for this place! This restaurant was amazing! We tried to have dinner on a Sunday evening and it was fully booked. So we made a reservation for Wednesday evening for 4. Even though the restaurant staff had limited English, we were able to easily communicate our order.....appetizers, steak for 4, potatoes and porcini mushrooms (in season), and a bottle of red wine. The staff recommended a 16euro bottle of wine that was excellent. We watched as the huge piece of beef was cooked before an open fire. We all wanted rare meat and were not disappointed, even though the chef did not ask how we preferred doneness. The mushrooms and potatoes were excellent. And then we had dessert! Choose the tiramisu.....not traditional and absolutely wonderful. The dinner tab for 4 was 180euros, which we found very reasonable for excellent food, attentive staff, and a beautiful relaxed setting. We spent just over 3 hours having dinner.

Good food, fresh pasta's and great meat!
The winecollection is something to deepdive intođź‘Ťđź‘Ť. In summer the garden is an oases of piece and a great place to spend all evening. In winter the open fire is the best place to watch: meat being grilled and its old fashion style makes you dream away and feel in your personal little heaven
