After hearing many good things about KOHA lounge and seeing all the jummy foods on their Insta feed I just had to go here. And what a lovely place it is!! The place looks really nice, with the soft color tones and simple interior. Enough space between the tables so you have def your privacy. The juice was delicious and very fresh, with a sweet flower as decoration. The food (shared platter hummus) came very fast and was just as delicious as the juice. A nice variation of tastes and all so fresh. The staff is very friendly and helpful, checked several times if we needed something else.
Price - quality is very fair these days seen the increasing of the prices of everything.
Definitely a go to if you are in Unawatuna and in the mood for some healthy fresh foods and nice vibes!!

If you are in Unawatuna and looking for a place with healthy but affordable meals , then you must visit Koha surf lounge. Their bowls are fresh and delicious. The food is very good and the presentation equally beautiful.
We went here for dinner and loved the ambience and the food. The waitstaff are very nice and attentive and check in with you constantly to make sure that you are happy with your food.
It gets quite busy so you may have to wait a bit to get a table but it’s worth the wait.
Would visit again !

I absolutely loved this place. We went for food and drinks. The food was so delicious, the music was groovy and the vibe was just on point. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a laid back and cool place to hang out.

My partner and I spied this establishment on the way to the beach. It’s a sign of how Unawatuna has changed over the years since I was last in the country, with the advent of more western style cafes. Koha surf lounge is one of the more upmarket looking venues. As would be expected, everything was a couple of hundred rupees more expensive than other spots, but having been to a similar high quality finish restaurant in Mirissa, the experience had been worth it. This was not.
We both ordered juices. Mine was bland and watery. On the way in my partner asked the waiter one question, ‘do you take card?’, we were told ‘yes’ and were quickly ushered to a table. It turns out that this was a falsity. When it came to the end and we asked for the bill, they wouldn’t accept card and so my partner had to head up the street to an ATM. The best bit however was yet to come. When we received our bill they had added an extra 100 rupees on to the drinks in addition to the service charge. We pointed out what they had done and were met with an “ok” and a shrug. With no apology given, it leaves us to believe that this is probably regular practice. We won’t be going back.

Dear Sarah,
first of all i wanna apologize if there was a misunderstanding with our payment options, as all our workers know that we don't take cards. Please check our menu, it is even written on it 'cash payment only', as well as it is written that we add 10% of service charge to your bill. It is not fair to leave a review of 1 star, just because you didn't check our menu well enough.
If you would inform yourself of the current inflation and economy crisis in Sri Lanka, you would maybe know that all the prices are double now and the rupee has fallen about 50%! If you don't wanna spend these 100 rupees, please don't visit a country in that situation.
Anyway i hope you have a good day and find cheaper places!

We had dinner here and had a good experience of the place. The lime battered shrimps were very good and so was the chicken kebab. Drinks were pretty decent, too. They don’t have a lot of tables, but we didn’t have any problems getting seated at around 7pm. I had a couple of bites of my partner’s chicken kebab and kind of regretted not getting it myself. Awesome spices. Would go back, but probably for lunch.

a great place to watch the world go by - relaxing atmosphere and charming service. We go there for the chicken burger which is perfectly seasoned and crispy and a freshly pressed juice. There are lots of healthy options - there is something for everyone and menu is well-executed. love this place!

If you are not only looking for absolutely delicious, but also healthy food that is prepared with a lot of love, a super nice location whether by day or in the evening, attention to detail, friendly staff and suitable music, then you are 100% right at Koha. The owners put their heart into the Koha and you not only see that, you can taste it too. Love goes through the stomach, right? :) Also be careful with the cocktails: you will become addicted to them. Don't be stupid to miss this.

This is a great place for food or just a drink with a chilled atmosphere and friendly staff. Have been visiting this place for some year and never been disappointed.
It’s newly refurbished so has attracted more visitors which is good but did prefer the old place but things change!
The staff are the same staff that have been there for some years and are really friendly, they even remember us now from previous visits. The owner is a friendly chap and always pops over to say hello.
The new food menu is good recommend the lime battered prawns plus the basil gin from the cocktail menu.

We have been on the island for the 4th month now, we live in Galle, and we come to Una to the beach. We passed by the establishment many times (usually we visited beach restaurants), but this time we walked from the beach and decided to stop by this establishment. I really liked everything, the menu and cocktail menu. It seems that the choice is not very large, but everything you need is there. And each dish is thought out with its own twist (delicious sauces). The establishment is atmospheric, the staff is smart and friendly. I also liked their eco-friendly concept - our takeaway dishes were placed in cardboard boxes with wooden forks, and the cocktail had a glass straw. No plastic of any kind)))

We are lucky to have by far best place in Unawatuna area just next door. It is a responsible and broadminded business with a human face. Tuna steak shows the best of tuna, hummus is not just a starter, even sweet potato wedges are to die for.
Music, light, floor feeling for the barefoot walking - everything is in place here.
Highly recommended!

We went to Koha Surf Lounge and it's such a lovely place, with beautiful interior and very calm atmosphere. The food was delicious! Their menu is very different from what you usually get in Sri Lanka. The staff is extremely friendly and we got the food super fast. They also have some vegan options and even vegan dessert!
I love this place and will go back for sure

Delicious food and friendly service. The tuna steak is to die for and so it is the chickpea burger. Mango Daiquiri prepared with fresh blended fruit and the right amount of alcool. Staff is nice and the overall vibe chilled and pleasant. Recommended!

There are always a lot of people here, this is the best indicator of the quality of food and atmosphere. Vegan food on the island is very monotonous, usually curry or rice with vegetables. And here at KOHA, hummus, real chickpeas, a tofu burger, there are dishes with the option of a vegan option, everything is delicious. Beautiful cocktails, relaxed atmosphere, everyone is friendly - cooks, waiters, dog)

This is a chill and laid back restaurant in busy Unawatuna.
Stylish and minimalist interior, with love for the details.
Competent, very friendly and forthcoming staff.
The food is superb and very tasty.
Try the crispy chicken burger, it may well be the best you will get in all of Sri Lanka.
Fair prices.

All dishes are super tasty - we tried burgers, tuna steak, salad with shrimp. The hummus is divine. It’s rare for these places to have clean, tasty and beautiful food in one place. The staff is trying their best. The downside is that there is no seating at lunchtime or in the evening, there are always a lot of visitors, we only got there at a non-rush hour - 16:00.
