We were very excited to visit this special location. The location is definitely worth visiting, but the food is not. The food was just not good and too pricy. We also had to pay 80 USD to secure our booking which was supposed to be...deducted from the final bill. When the bill arrived, the amount was not deducted and the staff claimed that they did not receive any payment although I had an email to support the the payment did go through. After calling with the office for 30 minutes, they could finally confirm my payment and we were able to pay the remaining amount. Overall not the experience you wish from a restaurant like this.More

The setting is amazing, starting with the boat ride to the restaurant then the helpfull staff. Then the food was out of this world.... the Rock Special platter had more lobster on it than anything else... the 'jumbo prawn'.. was half the size of the...crayfish ;).... ending with proper tiramisu was a nice surprise served in a coconut shell. This place is a must stop when visiting Paje area.More

Do not waste your money on a meal here. If you have to go just have a drink. Our seafood platter was the worst one I've ever tasted. It was old and grey in colour with little taste. The fish carpaccio was lacklustre. It was...very disappointing.More

Went to the Rock after hearing how good it is supposed to be. Very disappointing .....had the seafood platter. The food was cold, looked old and grey and even the salad was uninspiring. For the price terrible value. service very mediocre. When we complained the...Waiter and Manager were surprised at our comments. They did discount the meal but unless they lift their game I cannot see them maintaining a restaurant. It has huge potential but lacking in hands on management. very sad indeedMore

We are just coming back from the rock restaurant which is unfortunately a bit overrated as a restaurant. The view is indeed wonderful and the grilled lobster is very tasty but the rest of the card is lacking taste and a special touch considering the...price (more than 20 dollar for a dish) The lobster with couscous and the fish carpaccio where missing this additional special spice touch considering that we are in Zanzibar the island of flavors.More

Well, this restaurant location is simply amazing, on a rock in the middle of the ocean. The sunset is unforgettable. The food is good, you can choose a' la carte different dishes, mainly tasty fish. It was really an unforgettable night. Thanks!!

A must see place. We had booked for lunch and we had a sea food to share plate and it was so big we could barely finish it and it was 4 of us. The coconut tiramisu was really good. The food was good, there...was free wifi. Eating at the rock is such ana amazing experience. Highly recommend it and make a booking before visitingMore

Setting was amazing, food was average. I had the gnocchi, its very sweet as a main course and had tasteless poached prawns.

We had a wonderful lunch on the terrace recently. I had heard mixed reviews on the food quality but ours was really good. Service was very fast (especially for Tanzania) which was nice with hungry little ones. We had the grilled fish which was excellent,...homemade pasta, chicken and chips (kids menu) and all was delicious. we had 3! desserts and all were great- chocolate salami, the passion fruit cheesecake (My favorite) and the icecream which had a hint of cardomom and was delicious. Nice to have good view with such a fantastic view. Only wish was they had savignon blanc by the glass (only had chardonnay).More

If the tide is low you can walk, if it is high there is a small boat, don’t worry about the tide. If you go for dinner you need a reservation usually, unless it’s not busy due to COVID.
