Having driven past this quaint little eatery on the edge of the Fishhoek circle many times I decided to drop by for an early afternoon breakfast. Lovely interior with loads of artifacts on sale too. The breakfast was delicious and good value for money. My flat white was also perfectly made. What a great little eatery. I'll definitely become a regular.

This is a great spot for a casual tea and or Breakfast and lunch. Very good coffee and juices. The fresh cakes and scones were very good. Excellent friendly service. Good prices. Great place for couples to chat away the afternoon in a rustic atmosphere.

Chalk and Cheese has closed down and can no longer be found at this site as far as I know. Sadly there are far too many restaurants and tea rooms in Fish Hoek. One of the reasons is a great number of people come to Fish Hoek at the height of the season and think it is a wonderful place to start a business. Sadly in the winter months business tapers off and the locals go to their favorite places or stay at home

Chalk & Cheese, now growing even more into a gallery/gift cafe; yes, I go there for the improved coffee;milder than the previous one and rich in taste. Many visitors pop in for a breakfast, served with the freshest ingredients and a portion of love. Lunch is also a guarantied satisfaction;whatever you don't find on the menu or daily "lunch special", it won't be a problem to accommodate any special request. The owners are the loveliest people you can meet. Being such inviting place, you might want to stick around for that second cup and enjoy a read and browse for that little "surprise present" for a loved one or even yourself. Who knows, you might even walk home with a great painting since there is a good selection of budget friendly art available. Chalk&Cheese cafe is, in my humble opinion, the place to visit in Fish Hoek that will make you come back for more!

My Mum and I are regulars to this absolutely wonderful coffee shop, we don't go anywhere else! The owners are super friendly, food is always delicious and very fresh, and there is always something else that catches the eye to buy, from books, to knick knacks, as gifts or just for myself. You are never rushed, and can sit and watch the Fish Hoek go by with a fantastic coffee and cake, and their Saturday markets are great too. Basically, if you're in Fish Hoek, and hungry and thirsty, pop into Chalk and Cheese, you won't be disappointed.

If its atmosphere you wish for whilst enjoying a light meal then this family run restaurant is the go to place in Fish Hoek. Browse the book shelve, extending the width of the restaurant, for a bargain book or just enjoy looking at the many art and bric and brac items on sale that form the restaurant's decor whilst waiting for your meal. The menu is fairly limited and mainly aims at providing a light meal or something sweet with your tea or coffee. Items are however tastefully prepared and offer very good value for money. If its up market you looking for, look elsewhere, if its wholesome olde world charm go there.

A coffee shop is made by the people who work there. We have always been received with warm hospitality. There is a variety of seating to choose from and the atmosphere is homely. The food is home-cooked and simply delicious. We love going there for breakfast.

This is a place worth a visit. The owners are the servers and become your friends immediately. Newspapers are provided, arty gifts abound, and shelves of books invite one to browse on one of the sofas (there are conventional tables too!) All the food is freshly prepared and the beverages are served piping hot. My wife and I loved it not just because we are from Zimbabwe as are the owners, but because it is a breath of fresh air amidst the plethora of mundane rivals! We've been back a number of times now and have never been disappointed.

Wonderful breakfast and coffee, friendly staff and some great books to buy. Choice of seating could make for a long stay on the couch with coffee and a good book but it would spoil it for others who are waiting to get in lol
