Thought we would try a new place today ... The Stag and Maiden Cafe next go the U-Turn charity shop in fishoek was our go to place today. My wife order the Mushroom Ragu and I ordered the Smashed Avo on Toast. Interior is very...cozy, music not too loud, patrons respectful of others around them... very pleasant. My wifes cappachino had an intricate design in the froth of a womans face that truly impressed me. My wifes mushroom breakfast was deliscious with really tasty mushroom sauce and perfectly poached ( soft) eggs My smashed avo on toast was perfect ... the pickled onions gave the dish a unique flavour and my perfectly made medium poached eggs were awesome All in all the service the food the pricing were fabulous and i can highly recommend this place We will come again!!! For after your meal there are a few little brick n brack shops and charity shops as well as a very interesting bookshop to walk around and look at as well.More

This cafe is so good we went every day of our holiday in Fishhoek -very friendly owners, staff and other local patrons. Activity corner for kids. Extensive menu, shakshuka was perfect. Barista makes amazing coffees with portraits and other artwork! Unbeatable value too.

While the Stag and Maiden is a little off the beaten path and not right on the beach, it is definitely worth a visit. It's a relatively small shop but the staff are really friendly and welcoming. The coffee is great which we expected. What...surprised us was the quality of their food. The menu has a decent range of food and all items - breakfast and lunch - are available all day. I had a chickpea and butternut wrap which was really fresh and flavorful. My husband liked his sandwich as well (a wrap that they let him special order on his preferred bread). Sit and watch the world go by over a cup of joe.More

Good service, food, and coffee, a delight. As a retired couple, a place to sit and chat with spouse and friends are important...this is a good place to be when you want to be someplace.

My favourite coffee shop in Cape Town. They have the most talented barrister who makes the most amazing coffee with cute artwork in the froth. The rest of the staff, the food and the whole energy in the shop is just the best. Love it!

Tucked away in a side street just of Fish Hoek's main road is a real gem of a place for morning drinks and catching up on emails. The coffee is stupendous, excellently presented, and good value (20R for an Americano with milk and free small...cookie); there is good free Wifi; and the snacks (muffins etc.) are tasty as well. We were staying in Fish Hoek for two weeks and visited most days - the place was a life-saver!More

I'm a Fish Hoek girl who has lived in London for 20 years. I'm a Flat White connoisseur ... it's the ONLY coffee I drink! When I was on holiday in Fish Hoek over the past couple of weeks I wasn't altogether surprised at the...lack of skill across the Valley in terms of getting the consistency, strength and texture right - I gave up trying and opted for simple cappuccino instead. By chance, I popped in at The Stag and saw Flat White on the board. It seriously was one of the BEST Flat Whites I have had - anywhere in the world, not least London! Barista Colin is the best Flat White maker in the Valley. Well done Colin!More

Thanks it’s so good to hear you enjoyed it . I know I lived in the UK and SA needs to know the difference between a flat white and a cappuccino. I’ll pass this on to Colin .
