What constitutes a small portion is beyond comprehension! The food kept coming and it was excruciatingly delicious. There's no menu and that terrifies and excites me i equal measure, but after devouring the most extravagant cheese and cold meats board, two gigantic plates of pasta...and two skewers with the most deliciously marinated grilled meat I've ever tasted, I was dumbfounded to discover the price. Adding two bottles of wine from the best local vineyard, they had the audacity to only charge €22 a head!!!
Seriously, this place leaves me speechless (ish). All the ingredient are from their farm and this family run cooperative is beyond criticism.
The only neglect I felt was the lack of charge for their friendly efficient service, the welcoming ambulance and their ample doggy bag to take what we could not finish, home.
Awesome with a double helping if wow!More
This establishment will sell you meat, cheese, pasta, bread, charcuterie and ice cream all locally sourced to take away. It will cook for you any meat you choose from the butcher’s counter. Always it has several dishes of the day prepared freshly as well as...great hamburgers. The wine list is extensive. The people who run it are amazing, friendly and helpful. It is a joyful place.More
A family member mentioned this place a year ago; finally we decided to drive a few km more for a good brekky and it was really worth it. It was nearly midday and there were already a few hot dishes ready to pick up at...the buffet and sit at one of the table set with cutlery, napkins and paper place mat. In another corner there were a few different pizza slices and at the display case nearer the coffee machine, a choice of 8 or 9 freshly made cakes. One reason to drive there was the possibility to get freshly pressed vegetable juices but today they weren't available due the ice temperatures of the morning. We sipped fresh pomegranate juice, tasted the pear and chocolate drops cake, espresso, cappuccino, almond biscuit and a glass of... Sagrantino passito.
In the north near the alps the local custom allows you to have grappa much earlier, so we don't see anything weird in tasting a glass of superb passito when sometimes you feel like having it.
Frantoio del gusto is also a butchery and we purchased liver pate made on site and a whole fillet steak to cook later at home. The staff is very nice and affable to talk with, particularly Luca from Spoleto.More
Not so much to say...huge and delicious antipasto... Huge, tender and perfectly cooked plate meat...wine, coffe...and just 20 euro per person. Remember to make the reservation in advance or no way to find a place to seat.
