Started off well, was sat fairly quick and had drinks order taken shortly after. Then it went down hill. We waited 20 minutes for 3 soft drinks, which considering it wasn’t that busy is a while to wait. Our food order was never taken, it...took the best part of an hour and me passively aggressively rolling my eyes at another customer being served before us for anyone to ask if we had ordered. We paid for our drinks and left as we feared starvation may kill us before the food arrived.More

We've been here a couple of times now and enjoyed our meals both times. The food is good quality, there are generous portions (we've always left very full!) and the service is good as well. The prices aren't bad either and reasonable for me. Will...be returning that's for sure!More

We have frequented regularly over many, many years and have always raved about the service and food. Today we visited to have a late lunch (not booked). On arrival at the bar, we were kept waiting for well over five minutes without any acknowledgement from...the two bar members or waitresses who were setting up tables and passed us many times. An older guy asked if we were being served, we said no and could we sit at a particular table, his answer was Yes, I asked if we could also have food and his answer was Yes. No apology for keeping us waiting (to be honest neither bar members looked over whilst we were waiting). Usually, we are greeted by a smile, how can I help, yes of course that table us fine, what can I get you to drink. Would you like to see the menu...... NOT just answer with Yes. He then asked me what was wrong, I had not been rude or curt, just asked the above, when I said we'd had a long wait he relied with, we are very busy! In fact I have never seen it that empty in all the years I have been visiting. We ordered a beer and coffee. After 20 mins noone had taken our order for food we decided to leave, just as the bar guy came to ask. Not once did he smile or make us feel welcome, which is the exact opposite of all our other visits..... Very SadMore

Table of 4, 2 had tandoori hake, 1 had roasted halibut and I had 3 starters (1 too many I think). We also had shared starters of crab arancini and halloumi fries. All were excellent. Best halloumi fries ever by the way. No desserts as...we were all stuffed. Staff are lovely here. A shout out to Ramsey for excellent service.More

Came for a Sunday lunch yesterday, food was absolutely amazing and the amount of attention to detail that the chefs put into presentation is astonishing. Definitely not just your average “pub grub”. Bar Service was a little slow but understandable when so busy, could possibly...do with an additional member of bar staff in busy periods. Other than that cannot fault the place, food was spectacular.More

We go to a lot of the Brunning and Price pubs and this is by far the best. The food is just a level above the pubs within their company. We came and had various little dishes as a main and they were all great....The crispy beef was amazing. Service is always top notch as well. Highly recommend a meal out here in a setting that is fantastic!More

I make an effort to visit the Pant Yr Ochain when I’m in the area for work. The food and service are excellent. Expect a very warm welcome and a diverse menu with something to please everyone. It’s a little out of town, but one...of the most comfortable experiences I’ve had as a solo diner and well worth the short drive.More

Rang up on the day as another restaurant cancelled our table. We were accommodated with no problems at all in the dog friendly area as we had our small dog with us. When we arrived we were seated quickly and there was a small plate...of dog treats on the table which we thought was super cute! Service was quick and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious, in particular the beef was gorgeous! Would love to return again if we were in the area.More

We visit quite frequently and have had good and bad. Most times there is someone floating round checking everything is ok, but on our resent visit nobody was it was a busy Tuesday night. We had halloumi to start our favourite, it had been deep...fried and was very dark in colour we ate it but commented to each other that it wasn’t as amazing as the corn mills. Their halloumi is to die for , lessons could to learnt there. We chose the butternut squash and chestnut barley risotto with tempura broccoli We each ate a few mouthfuls then picked out just the squash and chestnuts , the dish was so so salty I love salty but on this occasion it was just too salty. I removed the batter of the broccoli as that was a little soggy inside. We both left the pearl barley. The waitress did offer to bring us something else instead when she collected our plates . But we turned the offer down my husband just had some ice cream to calm his mouth down. I suppose it would have been a nice gesture to offer us some compensation or a couple of meal tickets to use on another visit , but I assume that you don’t issue them any more as we were not given any. I am sure we will come again as we always do and take pot luck that we will have a good meal. You could definitely take a leaf out of the corn mills book as their food is spot on every time , …. Rhe last 2 times we have been the experience has been terrible so won't be looking to return. The service was painfully slow even though we were the first customers. Even just to get the menus. I have 2 small children and the drink options...were poor. As they don't do fruitshoots oflr anything on a bottle I asked for a glass of juice with a straw. They gave us the smallest glasses apparently but they were still so tall the kids struggled. And one eventually spilt. Some meals were stone cold. Others swimming in sauce. Fatty cuts of meat. Regretted ordering puddings as they took so long. Milk was off in my Latte. Really really not good.we did supply them feedback as they requested. Iv not only posted this here.More

Food was overpriced even with the "hidden" offer of 25% off. Staff and general service is excellent, we had a glass each of the house red wine which was only average. Granted, it was a cold evening, but it wasn’t very warm inside. Maybe some...of the rooms need an upgrade?"More

Walked in to a bar full of empty glasses! ok you might have a busy spell but the amount is unacceptable and the first thing to see does not say top end pub/restaurant! The amount of dogs in the bar area is crazy! Barking and...scuffles between dogs is not what I want to see or hear having a pint! yes pubs accept dogs but come on. left after one drink but had planned for more. Do the staff ever smile!! Sorry not as good as it should be.More

We decided not to have Xmas day dinner at home this year but have a buffet and go to the Pant on Boxing Day with high expectations. Firstly the staff as ever were very good unfortunately that cannot be said for the 3 course meal...at £46 per head x 4. The food was obviously prepared and warned up. My starter Wild mushroom tortellini, butternut squash purée, artichoke crisps (vg) was lukewarm and bland. My wife’s starter was Baked camembert, roasted grapes, walnuts, pink peppercorn crostini (v, gfa) was not completely melted and cold, salad was bland. My Turkey dinner was a large plate, cold sliced turkey with all the trimmings was bland and cool. My wife’s steak was rare and vegetables under cooked and crunchy. My Caramelised apple tart Tatin, vanilla ice cream, Calvados caramel sauce (v) was ok. My wife’s cheesecake was ok. Highlight of my meal was a pint of Plum Porter beer. We did not make a fuss but paid the bill and left but will not be visiting the Pant for Xmas meal again. We are fairly regular at Pant and love their fish & chips but sadly this Xmas meal was a step too far. Nb My wife has now decided to do Xmas dinner on New Years Day to compensate for this extreme disappointment which will be a zillion times better made with TLC.More

An extremely disappointing Boxing Day. For the price i paid, i did not expect to sit with dirty plates on the table, asking and waiting a long time for drinks. It took over 3 hours for our 3 courses and the whole family were disappointed...by the small, cold meals once they’d arrived. On top of this, we were then massively overcharged at the end, when we’d paid in advance not to feel the headache at the end of the meal. Would not recommend.More

Fabulous Christmas Day lunch with our family at the Pant. Welcoming glasses of fizz on arrival to a very festive warm setting and great welcome from Helen. We were sat in the conservatory with beautiful views of the gardens and lake. We were given plenty...of time to savour the Christmas atmosphere and enjoy drinks before embarking on our first course. Between us we had the delicious cheese soufflé, mouthwatering seared venison and refreshing crab salad, everyone throughly enjoyed every mouthful. Then the star of the show Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Absolutely delicious. An array of desserts and Mincemeat Bakewell slices finished off our lovely Christmas Day lunch. Staff went above and beyond to make it a very special time. Thanks Jimmy and your fabulous staff ❤️More
