We were driving home from our week long vacation in the Pyrenees. After a perfect proposal in the snowy mountains the day before, we were lazily driving the journey home along the coast and decided to enjoy a special meal seaside to celebrate our new engagement. We were sat by the window with perfect views of the Sea with the sun sparkling on the waves as he began to set for the day. We were welcomed with thoughtful staff, perfect local wines and outstanding fresh meals from the Sea. This place will also hold a special place in my heart as the final stop before returning back to reality from our dreamy vacation in North Spain & France.

Really, value for money, the best there is in Peñiscola. Very good product, careful elaboration, impeccable service, we definitely come back year after year. The menus they offer are very complete and the rice and fideuás are all delicious. An essential!

We booked the day before. Extraordinary service. Very good Mediterranean cuisine. Rice with lobster and fideuá to die for, delicious starters as well as desserts. Very good quality-price ratio. Friends go 3.4 times a year.

Dependiendo del dĂa se sucede una llamada detrás de otra, por lo que no es de extrañar que en 15 minutos se llenara nuestro cupo de arroces para llevar y se le dio la posibilidad de las 16:00 horas al insistir, aunque para nosotros era complicado. Nuestra cocina no es grande y no podemos dar tantos servicios como quisiĂ©ramos, primamos la calidad a la cantidad de arroces para llevar, si no vemos que no se va a poder atender bien, preferimos decir que no es posible.

Good menu entries. Good rice without further ado. The fideua was very salty and too dry.

Black Squid Ink - Fideua Negra ! Give it a try and suprise your friends. It looks so crazy since im American and haven't ever seen this but local friends love it. It tastes fantastic. Great location, staff and so many delicious courses to a meal.

If you are on the lookout for good food for a nice price, this is the place to be. We especially recommend the fish dishes.

This restaurante should be more highly rated. We had one of the best lunches we've had in ages here for 19 euros. The menu included 3 shared starters all excellent especially the pumpkin soup with ravioli. The steak was very good and the shared dessert perfect. Excellent cheerful, helpful service too.

September is a slow month in Peñiscola, Spain. Which is great for vacationers who like to not be crowded. Not so good for the businesses. HOWEVER.... Taberna del Mar still provides wonder food and service in the slow season. We enjoyed it immensely.
