The room was lovely, liked the small private sitting area outside. The breakfast was great with very friendly staff. Great place to relax.

Was a great place to stay while visiting Yzer (for the first time). The hosts and staff are extremely welcoming and gracious.
Very warm welcome and loving care. Our accommodation Nr.3 was very clean, spacious and well equipped. Water pressure in the shower excellent. Breakfast was very good. Parking direct in front of the room. The wonderful long beach is reasonable in a few minutes and the...way to a shopping centre too. We would definitely come here again!More
It surely takes something extra special to be the trigger for flying 6,000 miles for Dinner on a Saturday night ?! And special it was to have joined Mary-Ann & Rene at their unique Kaijaiki restaurant for one last 'experience' before they hand the keys...to new owners at the end of the month. Over 23 of their 25 years at the Helm, THE most wonderful times have been shared in an environment that can only be described as a feast for EVERY sense. Fellow diners and I agreed that Yzerfontein is losing an absolute gem - there's no Kaijaiki without MA & R- but alongside and endorsed by these two wonderful ‘characters', we send our happy blessings to the new owners. A ‘warm, patchwork quilt' is how Mary-Ann describes her 25 year Kaijaiki evolution. I 'get that' and in doing so, celebrate their success, their happiness, their 'next chapter'… And gratefully acknowledge our good fortune in stumbling across this place in it’s formative years. Wow ! It’s been a blast !More
Wow! Responses like these, leave me wordless. Thank you from the bottom of our heart! You and Andy definitely form a very relevant patch in our patchwork quilt.
Kaijaiki is unique. Rene & Mary-Ann are unique. Yzerfontein is unique. And all for the right reasons. Over many years, this place consistently serves up a memorable night and is an undoubted highlight of any visit to the West Coast.
Fabulous experience, amazing pancakes and the friendliest owners. A definit must in Yzerfontein. A fantastic humorous evening!
Thank you very much!
We enjoyed our meal at Kaijaiki thoroughly. Rene was a treat and made us feel right at home. The food was ready in no time and we couldn't stop talking about it during the rest of our trip.
The host Rene and his wife very friendly we had the pancakes done to perfection the setting is nice and clean service is quick. A must stop on your visit
Francois, thank you. You are the best!
On our last night of our holiday we were driving around looking for a place to have dinner and we stumbled across Kaijaiki and what a great experience it was. The owners Rene and his wife were incredibly friendly and welcoming and the food was...just as incredible. We laughed all night long at the amazing stories we were told!! If you want great food and to have a joyful night make sure to stop by this wonderful couples restaurant! You wont be disappointed 😊More
What a wonderful review! Thank you so much. Rene and Mary Ann Bosch (Owners)
From the minute we arrived there for lunch on a Saturday the owner complained that we were 20 minutes late for a 1:00 reservation and said that they like to go home at 2:00 PM so we must order immediately. Meanwhile even their own Facebook...page says they are open from 9:00AM to 10:00PM every day except Thursdays. He then proceeded to keep shouting at us across the restaurant that we arrived 20 minutes late (sorry, we are not in the military, we were there on holiday), and this annoyed us so much that we started shouting back. We go to lunches for the ambiance and a nice relaxing experience without rushing, which is just as important as the food. We don't like to order straight away like a fast food restaurant. Because he was so rude things just got worse and worse with the owners wife shouting at my wife and putting her face right at my wife's face with no mask on. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty except for 2 people, meanwhile the restaurant next door was packed to capacity. We should have taken the hint. The food was very expensive and just mediocre. The sole tasted very sour and the tartar sauce was just a mayo with huge chunks of onion in it and whole, large capers not even chopped - it seemed that they just rushed to get the meal out so they could go home. We've had better food at fast food restaurants. We have been to many restaurants in many countries and have never before had an experience like this, with the owners themselves treating us so terribly.More
Congratulations, Michael, you now form part of the four guests in more than two decades that gave us a terrible review. Luckily we know our worth and know reviews like yours are subjective. Your info for our Facebook page is incorrect. Please check. The past...More
We had a delicious meal (dinner) here. We both had fish - I had the oven roasted salmon and my mother had the sole. Well-cooked with yummy sides. The owner was very interesting telling us all sorts of stories. He also gave us a taster...of his pancakes. I would go back for those!More
Wow, thanks for a great review. We appreciate!
We had a fabulous lunch at this restaurant yesterday. The owner Rene is so interesting and a lovely host. Lunchtime was actually over but he was gracious enough to make us some "fish and chips". Lekker hoor jonge!
We had a wonderful time dining with the owner Rene and hostess Sonja! They provided a memorable culinary experience and world class service! The food was delicious and one could taste Rene’s passion for it! Highly recommended!
The host was so kind to open just for us on a public holiday. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. The dining area was decorated with family heirlooms. The food was fantastic, real Dutch home cooking, and made with love.
Wow, we're so happy you had a good experience. Reviews like yours make it all worth while for us.
Wow what an amazing experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitable reception. The owners Rene and Mary ann took pride in personally preparing our delicious meals for us. The atmosphere is cosy and they made us feel like family. A definite must when you...are in the Yzerfontein area. This experience will not be soon forgotten. Bitterballen, Sole, Butter fish and Rib Eye all done beautifully finished off with Desert which was Apple strudel.More
