Visiting the area, we had our choice of places to eat on the waterfront. We chose Buoy Beer Co. I ordered their IPA. It was an impressively balanced IPA. I needed a second one. I also ordered the Brat. The sausage was longer than the...bun. Special mustard definitely went well with the brat. Savored the first couple bites, then chomped it down fast. Glad we stopped!More

Nice energy in the place. Great view. I really enjoyed my beer. The fish and chips were outstanding. Wasn't quite as pleased with the brat. Overall, though, glad we went.

We had lunch a few days ago at Buoy Beer, one of our favorite restaurants in Astoria. We like to share the beer sampler with lunch. I had the Fried Oyster plate with lots of fresh oysters and french fries. The pretty oyster appetizer is...no longer offered due to a staff shortage at this time. The menu was limited when we dined there. We enjoy watching the ships on the river and taking in the beauty of the Columbia River from the dining room. :)More

We happened on this place rather by accident. But the quality of food and service was no accident and we loved it. My wife enjoyed a bowl of clam chowder she dubbed the best she’d ever had; she particularly enjoyed the little kick from the...chili powder or paprika. It was really good. The warmed spiced pistachios are excellent. Tremendous fish & chips. Excellent beers, made there. The young woman who served us while tending bar did an excellent job and was engaging & friendly. This place is fantastic. Go there!More

We did a 4 night coastal Oregon trip staying in Astoria for 2 nights and Newport and Florence each for one night. We arrived in Astoria at 11:30 am on a Saturday, too early for our hotel check-in so we headed toward the water and...saw a line at Buoy Beer and decided to get in it! There were actually two lines, one for indoor dining and one for their taproom to order beer and food to eat outside. We lucked out and got the last table inside (we were there June 19, 2021, and Oregon was still under Covid restrictions and limited indoor seating). We had the fish (rockfish) and chips and my husband claims it is the best fish he has ever had! We went back the next day which happened to be Father's Day at 3p and they were completely overwhelmed and running out of food with an hour wait for what they had. They had to do the fish and chips with tuna and it was not nearly as good. It's still a fun place and surely things will get better once Covid restrictions are relaxed.More

Host was helpful and sweet, didn’t get her name. We grabbed a couple of beers while we waited for our table to be ready. Both of the girls bartender were rude regarding the mask policy, didn’t know it was mandatory inside this place. Our food...was average, nothing to talk about, but not horrible either. The chowder was a hit though…More

We ate here for a late lunch over Memorial Day weekend. It was crowded but we eventually got an open table out front. The Beyond burger was pretty good but their sweet potato waffle fries were probably the best I've ever had. My aunt loved...her fish and coleslaw and clam chowder. The lemonade was perfect and the skies were sunny. It was a great time.More

I stumbled upon this place while walking along the river. It was amazing. The food was phenomenal and my dog loved it. I sat right on the water literally against the edge of the railing to the water. The staff was friendly and they had...a dog water bowl at each outdoor spot. So amazing. I paid $20.50 for a burger and a cider :) I think that's a great deal.More

After hiking all over Fort Stevens State Park, we stopped at this watering hole on the way to our hotel. Good social distance practice, excellent service at the bar. Bus table employees wiped down each area before a new customer was seated, and I appreciated...the outdoor, socially distant arrangement. Beer and spicy nuts were great too while watching the seals in the water.More

We split a fish and chips with an extra piece of fish and it was plenty for the two of us with very good fish and good fries. Great beer, and they even offered a root beer float, which my wife seldom passes up. Fast,...friendly service. There was a line at the dining side where the view of the river is, so we opted to eat in the taproom, which was funky and pleasant.More
