I see most patrons are happy with the diner but I just couldn’t write a great review. The space is adorable and very light and 50s style. The devote is outstanding. I really wanted to love it but just couldn’t. Our server was lacking any thing near being untreated in his job. We had to wave down someone else to get more bland tasting gravy and the cranberry sauce that was to accompany the meal. We both ordered the hot open turkey sandwich and we were really looking forward to it but it was a flop. There were mounds of turkey and potatoes but it was bland and tasteless. I salted it twice. The server asked if we’re were done, we said yes, then he walked away without removing the plates. He came back and we asked for the check. He never asked about dessert. He spent a lot of time leaning on a counter or behind the bar talking. Very disappointing.

First time here as we are from Orange County. First impression was that it was a cute diner with high hopes for a good meal. Upon entering it was very disorganized, many staff around but they seated two couples before us. The meal was fantastic. My partner had the pastrami Reuben with fries. The fries were delicious. I had the open faced roast beef sandwich dinner. I was disappointed that a salad was not included but in the end it was not necessary. The roast beef was tender, gravy was home made. Garlic mashed and fresh vegetable medley all at a great price for the quality. I'm looking forward to traveling here again to try their breakfast and soda fountain selections.

First off before I get into my review, we had an awesome waitress who was so nice and helpful. This review in no way is reflective of her. The food was decent. Big portions, kind of bland, but decent. Then we ordered dessert. I ordered the oreo cheesecake. I got a really big slice which was great for the price, but... under the chocolate oreo pieces there was mold. And I unfortunately ate some of it. I brought it inside and showed the manager and all he said was - huh, how did that happen? I said that I am allergic to mold and if it's the kind that I am allergic to I'm about to get really sick. He didn't say anything - just took the plate and walked away. No apology, nothing! Our waitress was the one who took the dessert off our bill, and like I said before, she was really awesome. But the manager seemed like he could really care less. We will in no way go back. They lost the 6 of us as customers and we will tell our friends and family not to go there either.

Do not go here. We had breakfast there several times. The food was cold and very expensive. A small glass of orange juice was $6. The place is dirty and doesn't look like it is ever cleaned. There were ants around our table as well. Went there for Thanksgiving dinner as well which was expensive and the food did not taste good. The dinner was like a turkey pot pie with shredded turkey in some tasteless gravy. I have given it many tries because I am a local and wanted to like the place. Save yourself and go somewhere else.

We were in the area visiting Franklin D Roosevelt Library and Springwood, after that we were hungry and it started raining, we rushed to the diner for some food and drinks. The place is big and the setting was almost the same as any diner in New York. The food portion was big, however, the taste was bad. We ordered Pile-up (chicken wings, Chicken tenders, Cheese sticks and Onion rings), dry! Salad was Okay and not my normal ones. Ribeye $29.99, medium rare, but was like rubber, cheap! Draft beer $4, that's the best part!!! CHEAP!!

Came here after a tour of Home of FDR on the recommendation of friends, and they were right. High four stars, low five - the soy sauce for the pork dumplings were too salty and not enough garlic. But otherwise, what a fantastic meal. Had the jambalaya along with French onion soup - just the thing for a cold day. They gave my kid a variety of crayons for their place mat, not just the usual colors nor the usual two or three. Got a lot of food for the money we spent, and the waitstaff was attentive and had good pacing regarding the food being brought out. Easy to find, will come back here again. Recommended.

Spent a few days in the Hyde Park area and we were looking for a fun place to have lunch. The Everyday Diner completely met those expectations. Once you walk into this diner you feel as if you have stepped back into time with its retro decor and big neon signs. There is a huge selection of food that will please every taste. My burger was fantastic. There is plenty of parking on the property Highly recommended

I’ve been to the Eveready Diner on Rt 9 Hyde Park many times over the years when I came down to visit my brother. I’ve had great meals here including what I recently ordered ; but yesterday, I had the most horrible experience ever. I had been looking forward to this visit. I ordered one of my favorites, the fried chicken dinner w/ mashed potatoes and corn. The fried chicken was over fried - hard crust and dry meat, the rustic mashed w/peels had something in them that was not tasty, the corn that was scooped on the plate was bone dry, no liquid from cooking, no butter , nothing & the biscuit , cut in half with no butter also. I asked if they had gray & a bowl of something yellow with carrots and lumps of flour came..🤮. My friend had shrimp scampi that came bone dry, no scampi sauce.. garlic/oil/ butter and herbs - none. What the hell happened to this once upon a time gem?? - I spoke to the manager, a stocky dark haired man & described our dinners. He just stood there like a dope. I said I don’t want anything I’m just letting you know. Not one word. I was so pissed 😤 off, at least lie and say I’m so sorry, we’re training new kitchen help, something. What a jerk!! My brother passed away 6 months ago and it was going to be my sister in law’s birthday in a few days so I came down ( 3 hours ) for a lunch visit, as this would be her first birthday without her husband to make a hard time a little easier. Thanks for nothing!! Obviously, 🤔, someone else took over, who just doesn’t care about food quality! Shame, this WAS a good place at one time…,..

This place is soooo instagram friendly. It is too cute. It feels like you are thrown back to the 50s and you should be wearing a poodle skirt singing "tell me more" to John Travolta! The place is really big and plenty of parking which is great because even on a Sunday at brunch time on a busy weekend (all the hotels in the area were booked), there was no wait. The staff was great, the pretty and friendly hostess seated us quickly. (I wish was got bigger than a 4 person table since there were 5 of us and we eat a lot of food but it worked out.). Our waitress took our order quickly and checked in with us frequently and didn't wait to get us coffee even though our party did come together. The menu had literally everything so if you are picky you definitely can find something. For someone like me its harder because there were soooo many options. The food was good, large portions and they gave us tons of strawberry butter which was to die for. My bacon was super crispy like I asked for and my coffee was always topped off. Our local family members friends said they have take out and delivery but the place is so fun and the service is so good, I would go in! I did notice how the staff worked really well together. Other waitstaff and the hostess help out our waitress a bunch of times and she for others. I think this made the service fantastic. I didn't have a dollar bill to use the old "claw" machine when I left but that is probably a good thing because I always loved those "no win" machines as a kid! LOL Definitely a place to bring the family or get together with friends after a fun night out!

Had a really nice dinner on a Saturday evening for two adults. Very large portions for the price—we had enough left over for dinner the next night. This retro diner is located directly off Route 9 with the inside nicely decorated and the staff very friendly. Lots of tables inside with a large menu. If we lived in the area, we would return. Wish we had diners like this in Maryland!

Very diverse menu. Very close to FDR House and Museum. Food was very good. Excellent service. They have a children’s menu. Everybody in my family of 6 were able to get what they wanted and enjoyed it. We came back again for lunch the following day.

We stopped here around 3:45 on a Monday afternoon after visiting FDR’s home. The servers were very friendly and attentive. This has a very typical/retro 50’s vibe. The portions are large. The veggie omelet was very good and my husband liked the roadside omelet but wished the sauce was on the side because it was a tad too much, but it was tasty. My grilled chicken pita was very good. The pita was warm and soft. I only wish there was more cucumber sauce. I ordered a Greek salad instead of fries and it was very tasty and large.

Just wow. My wife and I have been here before and I am happy to report it is still just as good. This a classic old diner with the chrome all around. We were seated immediately and placed our order. I had the New Orleans Chicken Salad and my wife had a veggie burger. Big portions that were REALLY good. Then, for dessert, I had the NY Cheesecake (topped with blueberries) and my wife had the Tiramisu Cheesecake. They were two big honking pieces that were delicious. I think we had to waddle out of there after that meal. Our waiter was friendly and humorous; the rest of the staff were also very friendly. Recommended.

We have loved the EverReady Diner and have been eating there for years. For the first time during Covid we decided to order take-out from them to support their business. We called and spoke to Kristin who took our order.. We ordered 2 Monte Cristo Sandwiches, French Fries and 2 Milkshakes. Our bill was nearly $45.00 just for those items. We asked her to make sure they included the standard sauce for the Monte Cristo sandwiches and she asked 'which sauce?' We said the standard sauce that always comes with the sandwiches in person (similar to a Russian dressing). We asked for ketchup for our French fries. When we got the order home, there was 1 straw for 2 milkshakes (I guess we were supposed to share). We received one order sweet potato fries (not ordered) and the other order of French fries was so greasy we couldn't even eat them (it's like they sat in the oil for hours), and we LOVE French fries so it takes a lot for them to be bad enough not to eat. They had fried the deli turkey and ham on their grill to a point that both types of meat were completely dried out (you could tell they did it on the grill due to the grill marks). It was like eating dried out leather inside the French toast bread. Would have been better if they just microwaved it; at least it wouldn't have dried out. No sauce was received with the sandwiches as had been requested, so completely dried out on top of the dried out meat). On top of everything, no ketchup for fries, and since they gave us sweet potato fries only one of us even received our fries and only one straw to try and drink two milk shakes (they were too thick to drink without a straw). The worst was paying $45.00 for what we got... so disappointed. This was definitely not the food we ate there before (which was excellent) and definitely won't be ordering take-out from them again. Maybe some restaurant's food just doesn't translate to take-out.

This was the first time I had eaten at Everready Diner in almost thirty years and the food was just as good now as it was then. I had the Everready Breakfast Platter, which was two pancakes, three eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pieces of sausage and everything was delicious. The pork sausage was especially good, these plump little sausages were well spiced and were perfectly cooked. The breakfast platter is more than enough to tide you over until lunch. The service was very quick and friendly and I will be coming back when I return to the area.
