We were here because of the (very) good reviews. The friendliness of the staff and the short waiting times are great. The sauerbraten and the red cabbage were a bit too sour for my taste, and the portions were definitely too small for the price. The schnitzel with the potato salad (which takes some getting used to) (this was also a bit too sour) was OK. For this reason, "only" a 4 star rating.

The Bradenton-Sarasota area has many German restaurants to choose from...my wife and I have tried them all. In sum, all are good, but, the Lucky Frog, by far, is the best. The chef is from Bavaria - so, very authentic food. The potato salad was superb, the schnitzel was thin and fried to perfection - simply perfect...the cordon bleu was amazing. The staff was engaging and fun - it was obvious they are very proud of their restaurant. Highly recommend The Lucky Frog. We are going back!

We have been meaning to stop in for a long time. So glad we did. Food and service were excellent. Very authentic, served piping hot as it was all fresh and full of flavor. Had lunch portions that were more than ample. Service was delightful. We will be back.

Lucky Frog is our choice for dining out and we are never disappointed. Not only is the food good (authentic German) but we pick times that are not crowded so we can hear each other talking. My cousin and I have been meeting here for dinner several times a year and have always found it to be spotless, and we can see the food being prepared in the kitchen by Uwe and his staff.

We dined at The Lucky Frog last evening with friends. Our husbands came for lunch a while back & enjoyed it very much so brought us for dinner.
What a wonderful experience. Karin was a friendly & efficient server. All our food choices were superb from our shared potato pancakes to our entrees (the bread dumpling was delicious) to the Apple Strudel for dessert. All freshly made with high quality ingredients & such attention to detail.
We will be back & we suggest others give it a try.

My girlfriend and I decided to try German food for the first time while visiting Sarasota. I'm so glad we tried Lucky Frog because the service and food were incredible.
The waitress was very friendly and explained the menu to us. She also offered samples of the German beer so we could decide what to order.
The chef (and owner) made everything to order and made sure we were happy with everything. He even let me take a picture of him.
If you want friendly service, great quality food with decent portions at a reasonable price, you need to check out Lucky Frog!

Since COVID days this is the only restaurant I go to. My cousin and I like it here because if we go early on a weeknight it is not usually crowded and we can hear each other in our conversation. It is always spotless. I usually get the Hunter's Schnitzel, which has a great mushroom sauce and it goes well with my Krombacher Dunkel draft. Tonight I started with one of their soup specials with chicken and mushrooms and it was outstanding. Bradenton is blessed with three good German and one good European restaurant, but Lucky Frog is always my restaurant destination.

Today was our third time at Lucky Frog and it was once again very good. The bacon schnitzel and fried potatoes with Oktoberfest beer were really great. Simone also personally looked after our physical well-being. You should definitely try it!

During our stay in Bradenton we went to Lucky Frog for dinner several times. The schnitzel with potato salad (authentic Bavarian) was super tasty. I also really enjoyed the mixed salad and once we had crème brûlée for dessert, it was amazing!

We arrive a bit early for our reservation and they could not have been more accommodating. The German draft beer selections were awesome. They served potato skins as an side with the drinks. We ordered 2 potato pancakes for an appetizer. They were fresh and delicious. Everything is scratch made to order. We both had the pork special plate. It included a brat, schinzel, spaetzle, sauerkraut, pork roast. It was awesome and I would highly recommend it. The Black Forest cake for desert was light and delicious. We were told he makes his own whip cream, since American whip cream is too heavy. Service was fantastic also.

We found this little gem online and thought we would give it a try. The restaurant is in a strip mall but don't let that discourage you. The food was home cooked, delicious and our server, Crysta, was awesome, bending over backwards to see that we had a pleasant dining experience. The goulash soup was thick and hearty having just the right amount of paprika. For my main course I had the "Hunters Shot" - a breaded pork schnitzel with spaetzle and covered in a delicious mushroom cream sauce. The portions were generous. I also ordered a side of red cabbage that was very good. Crysta was warm and friendly and as mentioned earlier was attentive to us. We will definitely go back.

Absolutely the best German food I ever had. The reviews are right. Owners are husband and wife, husband is chef and Everything is prepared fresh. Nice homey and relaxed atmosphere. I had the pork platter with excellent , tender pounded flat schnitzel, potato pancake and applesauce, preceded by warm brown bread. Wife came out to talk during dinner to make sure everything was good. Said she came to Florida because it was too cold in Germany! Waitress was great. We left with a doggie bag of homemade Apple strudel with vanilla sauce. Even if you have never tried German food, go and experience it yourself. I don’t think you’ll regret it!

We've eaten here many times. I've never had a bad meal. Actually, I've never had a meal at the Lucky Frog that was less than superb. It's a small, locally owned place that serves delicious German fare. The chef cooks behind a half wall to keep an eye on the patrons. We sometimes chat while he cooks. Everything is just right - the schnitzel, the sausages, the German beer - even the side salad is special. If you want something different, ask for potato pancakes with a sliver of salmon. Perfect!

We ordered takeout and shared a dinner. The quantity was not an issue. The meat was difficult to cut and the spaetzel was lacking in any flavor at all. The cabbage was very good. Having had German food in many places including Germany, one of our more favorite kinds of food. This was disappointing. It was all edible but not representative of the more authentic German restaurants that we've eaten in.

My husband and I recently visited the Lucky Frog with friends, and it was wonderful. I ordered the Kings Platter and it got tastier with every bite. It's worth every penny. The Roulade was tender and delicious, and the red cabbage was exquisite. The food is just like in Germany. It's an experience worth repeating. The Crème Bruée for dessert was so good I didn't want it to end.
The service is good, fast, and friendly. We recommend it to anybody who wants an authentic German culinary experience!
