We only had dessert so this isn’t a true review. We had bread pudding. It was $12 and was the tiniest piece of bread pudding I’ve ever gotten. It also wasn’t very tasty.

I‘m very sorry for your experience and that the breadpudding didn’t reached your expectations. We would appreciate if you could give us the chance to make it better another time
Very poor service and the owner was very rude to us. She just dumped the plates in front of us and even messed up the bill. The food was good.More
In the moment you sit on the table you was so rude to my waitress that you made her cry. And she is an many years experienced little older very kind hearted lady. That’s why I asked you on the end of your visit not...More
Lucky Frog is our choice for dining out and we are never disappointed. Not only is the food good (authentic German) but we pick times that are not crowded so we can hear each other talking. My cousin and I have been meeting here for...dinner several times a year and have always found it to be spotless, and we can see the food being prepared in the kitchen by Uwe and his staff.More
Thank you so much Gene. We are very happy about your great review and we appreciate your kindness. We’re looking forward to see and welcome you both again
One of the places, the couple that own it is so nice. They make it so welcoming. The food is absolutely amazing!! This has become one of our favorite places. Definitely recommend!!!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We appreciate that and hope to welcome you soon again
We stopped in for lunch today, and don’t have anything but positives. Prompt and courteous service, I had the beef stroganoff, my wife the sauerbraten lunch specials. Nice and hot, authentic flavors, perfect portions. Nice to have pictures of each menu item too. Bread pudding...is a must-have dessert. We would recommend this spot to everyone ! I appreciate not being asked to leave a review, I am doing this because this place deserves it. One of the best, if not the best in Bradenton!More
Thank you so much for your wonderful review Andy, we appreciate that. It was nice to meet you and your wife, please see us again, you’re always very welcome
I took my Mother and her partner out to dinner in March. I am always looking for a special place to take them when I visit during the winter. This place is a hidden gem in Bradenton. It is unpretentious on the inside and outside....The Bavarian colors are welcoming in the restaurant. If you have been to Bavaria, it feels like home. Jeane was our server and was welcoming and attentive. Chef Uwe, prounced (Oove), is making your meal within feet of your table. The food is cooked to order. It was authentic and reminded me of those very meals I enjoyed so much for years when I lived there. It was delicious. Simone, Chef Uwe's wife, is charming and see's that everyone in the restaurant is enjoying themselves. I was pleasantly surprised when Simone came to visit our table and I learned that she and Uwe are from Augsburg, where I served in the Army. What a small world! And Chef Uwe was gracious and visited our table as well. There are many restaurants to choose from in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. If you are looking for a family owned, authentic, ethnic meal that is served fresh and with loving care, this is the place to go. And yes the German beer is cold and very good. Tip - the Pork Shank is a specialty and needs to be ordered a day or two in advance. Bring your appetite!More
Thank you Arthur, for this wonderful review. We enjoyed talking to you what brought us great memories back too. Looking forward to see your mom for music soon and to see you when you’re back in Florida too
This place did have pretty good food but not sure it deserves the high praise it gets on Tripadvisor. Don't get me wrong the place does have good food but the location in a strip mall and the somewhat quirky lay out was just so...so. If your in town and have a craving for German food, I highly recommend this place.More
Thank you for your 3 point review. We’re very happy that you enjoyed and recommend our food. I don’t understand why being in a strip mall is a bad thing for a restaurant but perhaps that’s an American thing. Which decorations would you prefer in...More
We arrive a bit early for our reservation and they could not have been more accommodating. The German draft beer selections were awesome. They served potato skins as an side with the drinks. We ordered 2 potato pancakes for an appetizer. They were fresh and...delicious. Everything is scratch made to order. We both had the pork special plate. It included a brat, schinzel, spaetzle, sauerkraut, pork roast. It was awesome and I would highly recommend it. The Black Forest cake for desert was light and delicious. We were told he makes his own whip cream, since American whip cream is too heavy. Service was fantastic also.More
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Mike. It was our pleasure to welcome you in our restaurant and we hope to see you soon again
Very clean! Prompt, courteous service! All the food was the best tasting. Large portions! My wife enjoyed the large assortment of items on gluten free menu. We wanted desert, however we were too full from lunch. Great stop!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We hope to welcome you soon again
Yum, the food is so good, the staff is great and we can't stop going back. The Lucky Frog is highly recommended. Lecker, hoechst empfohlen.
Thank you so much Ellena, it’s our pleasure to welcome you every time
The lucky frog has a nice atmosphere. It’s not plush but it does make you comfortable and the surroundings suggest a German eatery. The waitress serving us had a German accent and was most pleasant. There was a selection of German beers. The food, however,...was average. It didn’t have much taste. There is a $1 charge for water .More
Sorry that your meal wasn’t than expected. I’m sure I was several times at your table but you didn’t complain about anything. Please could you let me know what dish you had that we can make it better?
We drove over from Kissimmee to do a little bit of a staycation in the Sarasota or Bradenton area. I Googled Eastern European and German restaurants and found Lucky Frog. At first the name looked like an Asian restaurant to me. Then when I visited...the website I could see that it was German by the blue and white checkered tablecloths. My husband and I ordered both the pork plate and the beef plate. We got Frankfurter, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, red cabbage, Spaetzle, roasted pork, Goulash and Sauerbraten. All excellent! May I make a suggestion and change the name of the restaurant from Lucky Frog just something more German sounding so people know that it is a German restaurant within two seconds of looking at the title. Maybe call it Black Forest, or Little Bavaria, so more people will know it is a German restaurant.More
Thank you so much, Taylor, for your great review and that you gave us a try. We hope you could enjoy your staycation in our area as well and we would love to welcome you again
Wife and I stopped in Lucky Frog on Cortez for lunch. Asked for water. Was told they don’t serve water due to problems with TAP WATER. But they will sell a plastic bottle of water for $1. Rip Off! If water is not safe to...drink what are they washing dishes and hands with! I think it’s a Health Department inquiry as to why water is not safe to drink.More
We’re not serving Tab Water but if you don’t want to pay $1 for a Bottle you also could choose Ice Tea, Soda with free refills, Juice or Wine and Beer which fits perfectly with our German Food. Florida has the worst water quality in...More
We always have to come here every vacation. Never disappointed with the traditional German food. In a mini mall next to a nail salon and grocery salon. Love it! 5 stars....
Thank you so much! You’re always very welcome and we’re blessed to have so wonderful guests
We've eaten here many times. I've never had a bad meal. Actually, I've never had a meal at the Lucky Frog that was less than superb. It's a small, locally owned place that serves delicious German fare. The chef cooks behind a half wall to...keep an eye on the patrons. We sometimes chat while he cooks. Everything is just right - the schnitzel, the sausages, the German beer - even the side salad is special. If you want something different, ask for potato pancakes with a sliver of salmon. Perfect!More
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We appreciate that very much and feeling blessed for our great guests
