Most importantly, don't go to this restaurant with any preconceived notions of the food, you have to have an open mind to what is served. Also, be prepared to spend some shekels, because we found that the sake pairing was really important and brought out...More

Kajitsu is an incredible Vegan fine dining yet understated experience. It is a solid choice for vegans and those who want to experience vegan food in haute couture. The setting is very subtle, quiet, almost like a Budhist Temple. The sake menu is TO DIE...More

We came for the tasting menu but stayed for the whole nine yards and we were glad we did. All Vegan, all delicious and some off the charts. I think our favorite was the eggplant with a miso foam, extraordinary. And noodles with fresh truffles,...More

A very pleasant evening. The service was charming. The plated food was elegant and pretty. There were some nice surprises in the meal — and particularly with respect to the tastes on the plate.

The first thing you notice is that the tables are spaced far apart, not like all the other fine restaraunts in New York. The tables themselves are beautiful hand hewn wood slabs, nicely polished. The mostly caucasian staff make a fair semblance of Japanese hospitality. We...More

We have dined here many times over the years and we have always enjoyed our experience. However, we did not enjoy our most recent visit. As usual, we dined upstairs with another couple. The atmosphere was surprisingly and disturbingly very loud and noisy- we could...More

Having just been to a vegetarian sushi restaurant in San Francisco, we were excited to give this restaurant a try. Some courses were great and some just ok. Service was great though felt a bit rushed at times.
