My friend is a Broadway fanatic (I'd consider myself more of a casual fan), so I mainly tagged along. To be far, the bar was fun! It was fun singing along and the drinks were all that expensive considering where the bar is. The crowd...More

Went to Marie Crises invited by a good friend! Loved the place: there is always someone playing piano and people are singing the songs around it! It’s so cool and funny! Mostly the bar is gay but yes, you can find some straight people there...More

I was taken to Marie's Crisis by a friend who had experienced it a couple of weeks earlier. While I don't have an interest in musical theatre it was a great place to experience. We went after an early dinner on a Monday evening so...More

For folks who love show tunes, this is a definite place to go! It's a small, downstairs, and usually packed, but everyone crowds around the piano to sip drinks and sing along! As in other reviews, the bar staff aren't the friendliest, but you don't...More

It seems as though many of the out-of-work performers in New York come here to practice their craft, and they know the lyrics. It's just a beer bar with few places to sit, but the music is a treat. Used to be a gay bar,...More

Recommended by friends this is the kind of place you might otherwise easily walk past. In the heart of West Village you enter through a small door at street level, down into the basement. This is not a high end place! In fact it's quite...More

Visiting from Norway, found this bar through a random Google search, and decided to stop by. Best desicion ever!! If I had just one night in NYC, this is definitely where I would spend it. The pianoman plays every musical song you know, people are...More

Just a superbs nights entertainment - if you like songs from the shows you have to experience this - participation encouraged , can be crowded but atmosphere is wonderful and friendly -saw other comments about barman and am surprised - sure he wasn't ridiculously friendly...More

Great bar loved it, well apart from the rude barman. I know that its a big thing in NYC to give tips, but no way when the service is poor and the bar man rude. But the bar itself is a fab hidden little gem

I had no idea where I was being taken. What a surprise. Singalong with strangers, all enjoying themselves. Surely something to replicate at home in Melbourne. Also heard some theatre people singing along in the crowd with amazing gusto. A great place to bump into...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
