The hostess seated us quickly at a nice table out doors served by a polite and reserved waiter. We had an appetizer elsewhere so we plunged into a cocktail and entree. Having enjoyed an excellent halibut the previous night at Lola 42, we brazenly ordered...another Boston halibut. This halibut was served in a dish of butter, clam chowder and, bizarrely, popcorn. We’ve eaten our fair of fresh fish but in my decades of dining, I’ve yet to have popcorn served on an entree. It’s just not something that had ever occurred to me, but until we were unnecessarily confronted with the invasive species, we had never questioned the “why,” either. As I sit here writing the review, the answer is obvious: popcorn offers absolutely no flavor to any meal and, worse, we suspect it robbed the butter of its flavor and deflected our attempts to introduce flavor vis-à-vis grinding copious amounts the two common seasonings The Sea Grill had thoughtfully placed on our table. The salt and pepper shakers were the much preferred “grinder” types in lucite shakers. All the elements of flavor were there: we could see the uncut salt crystals and pepper corns, we could feel & hear the substances getting crushed in the grinder, we could see the (user-specified) ground spice falling onto the fish but alas, it was all an illusion. There was to be nothing to quench the eerie blandness that we were served. The halibut deserved better, we deserved better, YOU deserve better. Don’t order the halibut. The other bright spots were the restaurant had sturdy, comfortable chairs, even outdoors; the napkins were so soft, I caught myself wiping my face, even in the absence of detritus from the meal; the restaurant decor exuded a masculine elegance defined by an understated nautical theme that caused me to reflect, as I chewed on the unwelcome clams included with my popcorn/butter/chowder halibut, on how I wish I’d splurged on that Submariner Rolex pre-COVID before prices became truly ridiculous. If it sounds like I’m searching for some positive commentary to see about the Sea Grill, it’s only because the staff is so nice, and obviously too nice as no one has the heart to tell the chef that the halibut sucks.More

I have got a salad with old tomatoes (and some even had a smell of fish and there was no fish in this meal) My wife has ordered Fish & Chips and clam chowder and in a few hours had a really upset stomach. We...will avoid eating there next time!More

We stayed at the Boston Harbor hotel and this restaurant is in the jotel. We ate breakfast there for 3 days. It has inside and outside seating. Nice view of the harbor. Food is good with a choice of buffet on the weekends. Breakfast closes...at 11:30 so they can start lunch. Our hostes Mary was great in seating us where we wished and was accomodating.More

I chose this restaurant because of the beautiful water view. I had the halibut, the berry breeze drink, and overnight oat cake for dessert. Everything was delicious. All their dishes involve unusual combinations of ingredients, so don’t go there unless you like to try new...recipes.More

We were staying nearby and booked breakfast one morning. It was so delicious and the service was so good, we made another reservation and ate there again. I ordered an omelet with lobster and the amount of lobster meat was very generous. Great setting and...great breakfast both times.More

Amazing outdoor setting looking at the Harbor! The food was outstanding. I had the halibut beautifully prepared with asparagus. Service was top notch.

I couldn't afford to eat here before. But, they participated in restaurant week with a 3 course meal for $38. Service was excellent, setting stunning and food pretty good. They did try to rip people off by having a ton of add-ons (lobster meal an...additional $25!) But, if you could control yourself, good meal at a good price during restaurant week.More

I am all in favor of enjoying a classy, expensive meal once in a while, but not when it does not taste good. Our corn dip appetizer was very good, and the service was beyond excellent, but the salmon and halibut were both dry and...overpriced. A meal for two people cost $130, and we didn’t even get a salad or anything. It was a bit disappointing. The outdoor scenery is very nice, but I have to say that the other people dining here seemed to have chips on their shoulders. Boston is a large city with many better restaurants, so spend your $130 elsewhere.More

We walk about the Boston Harbor many times and felt it was time to celebrate the relaxation of eating restrictions. The restaurant overlooks the Boston Harbor and people sailing and boats passing by. The staff was excellent. The food was good , felt like high...end bar food. Nothing sophisticated or with special tastes. I had a salmon poke bowl and my wife had fish and chips. I have to admit that the fish and chips were several grades above what I have eaten in other places. The poke bowl good with mango and edamame. Not great.More

At the time we were there, there was no music. The Summer series had not started. Check the website for Boston Harbor Hotel. That is where I found the schedule.
