We went to Desert Bistro for dinner on our last night in Moab given its stellar reviews. We were not disappointed. In fact, Desert Bistro could easily hold its own against restaurants in larger metropolitan areas. It is truly a local gem. We both had...the bison special, which was perfectly prepared and an excellent bottle of wine from their outstanding wine list. Our server, Dailey, was friendly and attentive. Whilst on holiday, we like our final meal to be a sort of grand finale. In this, the Desert Bisto, and particularly Dailey, Chef and the back of the house, and the management and front of the house team, acquitted itself famously. Thank you for a great meal, delightful wine, and five star service. No trip to Moab is complete without fine dining at Desert Bistro.More

Our second time at Desert Bistro. We splurge here to celebrate special occasions. Was again rewarded with amazing food, superb service ty Ted and a warm and cozy fine dining experience. We started with the red and golden beets served with fresh basil pesto and...che'vre, yellow bell pepper pure'e and balsamic reduction, so good! I had the hand-made Agnolotti pasta filled with parmesan, asiago and truffled mushrooms; served in a light broth with marsala wine, portabella, shiitake and oyster mushrooms, balsamic vinegar, lemon and sage. It was flavorful and beautifully presented. My wife had the stuffed, roasted Poblano Pepper with organic quinoa; mixed with sun-dried yellow tomato pesto, roasted corn & bell peppers, spinach, Anasazi and black beans, accompanied by a julienne of yellow squash, zucchini and carrots served over roasted tomatillo-basil sauce and topped with coriander toasted pumpkin seeds. If that doesn't make your mouth water! She said on a heat scale it was only a 2-3. Desert was pumpkin spiced cake with a burbon glaze and whipped cream, just the right mix of sweet and savory for a desert split with two of us. We can't say enough good about our experience, but oh, don't forget the homemade bread served with each meal. The dipping oil, butter, and side sauce they serve with it just make this out of the oven warm bread that much better of an intro. Expect to make reservations with a $10 refundable deposit upon arrival, ten minute grace. We took a 5:00 seating and really enjoyed the early-bird quiet of the restaurant until it filled in quickly. Couples, and families all seemed to enjoy.More

We went to dinner here on Saturday, October 28 to celebrate our friends 34th wedding anniversary. Our server, Britt, was prompt without being fawning; fun and very knowledgeable about the food offerings. While there is an excellent wine list here, we brought 3 bottles of...our own wine and took advantage of the modest cork fee. The food comes with amazing home made bread. Our party enjoyed three specials; buffalo tenderloin steak, sea bass and an ahi tuna appetizer. Perfection. Also ordered the handmade ravioli. This is served in a broth and is very light and tasty for a pasta dish. I loved my Fall salad with apples, figs, etc. The mushrooms were amazing. For dessert, we had chocolate cheesecake and apple rhubarb strudel with ice cream. Delicious. While our friends had booked the reservation, we wanted to cover the bill given it was there anniversary. I called ahead on how to do this without fuss. Hosting took a note and simply had me slip them our credit card to pay. It worked out great. I highly recommend this restaurant, our server Britt and the team at Desert Bistro.More

Disappointing meal. The descriptions on the menu do not match up very well with what is actually served. Mediocre, overpriced food at best. Plus, the reservation service, Tock, screwed us out $20 just to make the reservation, money never refunded. Not a good experience.

What a wonderful surprise Desert Bistro gave us on our recent vacation. Starting with our server, Becca, we felt welcome. She did a nice job with dinner timing and recommendations. The chef, who found out is the owner, puts out food you would find in...5 star restaurants in Chicago, New York and LA. Tuna appetizer was outstanding and started our dinner the right way. My wife had the duck confit which had great crispy skin, moist and a wonderful sauce. I had the special, a bison steak which was perfectly done, could be cut with a fork and was delicious. Homemade desserts made by the chef’s mom highlighted our dinner out on the patio. Reservations a must.More

There's a real chance I would fly back to Moab just to dine again it at Desert Bistro. I am not a foodie, but through my job I have eaten at many a highly rated restaurant - in Paris, Milan, Zurich,... - and never before...has a meal made such an impression on me. Particularly the Bison Empanadas and Bistro's chocolate dessert. Also the wine list. My friend wanted to know if they'd ship their freshly-made bread to her regularly when she returned home. Beware: the place books up, so best to make reservations in advance. I wish I had made a second reservation when I had the chance.More

Three of us travelling around the US had the best meal in months here. All dishes are first rate and this restaurant must have the best chef in the state of Utah. Highly recommended

Just returned from 3 weeks exploring the national parks. Desert Bistro stands out as the best restaurant we visited for an all around great dining experience. The menu and food selections were excellent, our server was fantastic (knowledgeable, attentive and just sweet). Don’t know if...it’s a daily occurrence but we had a warm loaf of bread delivered to our table that was baked by the chef’s mother. We really don’t eat a lot of bread but we finished every piece! It was served with 3 selections of dips/spreads which were also delicious. Cocktail list creative and notable. Book in advance, be prepared to leave a deposit that was promptly refunded after dining.More

Everything about our dinner at Desert Bistro was outstanding -- the service and the food. We had the Fall salad, the mushroom pasta, and the duck confit. I think the mushroom pasta was the best pasta dish I have ever had -- melt in your...mouth homemade pasta with an assortment of mushrooms in a delicate broth. Simply amazing! The duck confit was very well prepared. Then we had the chocolate tart with ice cream. I highly recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience!More

Food was exceptional. Service was outstanding. Thank you Baily! The manager stopping by to chat was an appeciated added touch. We work hard at finding "the restaurant that can't be missed" when we travel, particularly in those we'll known tourist towns such as Moab. Don't...miss this one. It is a special occasion!More

We stopped in Moab on a ten day driving trip from Bend, OR to southern California and had a full dinner at this restaurant. We try to eat at the best places we can find in the cities where we overnight. Our meal here was...the best on our trip by quite a bit and not the most expensive. The bread was homemade by the chef's mother and was so good that we asked for the recipe my wife had the fish special (sea bass) and I had the "game" special, bison tenderloin, medium rare. They were cooked just right and the portions were generous. And the restaurant was relatively quiet so we could hear one another. A+More
