3 stars for service, 2 stars for the food. There are a lot of cupcake flavors to choose from. I think the taste maybe good for someone who only eats cupcakes once in a blue moon. But being a cupcake fan, I would not choose this place. The frosting could be better made; and the cake is not moist enough.... More

We stopped in for a treat after walking around the city. We ordered the samoa, the strawberry cheesecake, and Tiramisu cupcakes. They were great! We were all happy.

Had an Oreo cupcake. It was very good. Nice balance of frosting and cake. Would return. Quick purchase, nice clerk. Ice cream option across the aisle.

I had a huge dilemma while walking into the Metreon--Cako Cupcakes were on the left and Cako Ice cream on the right?! As I went left...then back to the right...and after one look back to the left, I found myself ordering a scoop of Birthday Cake from the Cako Creamery! It tasted more like gelato then ice cream! I love... More

In the movie, "Five Easy Pieces" Jack Nicholson tries to order wheat toast. The waitress says it's against the restaurant policy, so he famously orders a chicken sandwich and tells the dingy waitress to, "hold the butter, lettuce, and mayonnaise." Then he tells her to hold the chicken too -- between her legs! Yesterday we went to the movies at... More

The little visitor enjoyed the cupcake...because it was made with a "secret" ingredient most kids like: SUGAR!! Visually attractive cupcake display definitely will pull you in. I didn't taste the cupcakes myself because I can't. But the gluten-free macarons (I tried three different flavors) were stale and actually pretty flavorless. Don't bother unless you have a kid with you. Service... More

Every time I’m in San Francisco, I stop at least once at this Cako near the Metreon movie theater. This was my 6th visit in the last 3 years! Their cupcakes are moist with amazing frosting, and I have a number of favorites – Maple and Bacon, Salted Caramel, and Chocolate Peanut Butter top the list. Even better – they... More

Came to the Metreon for dinner with girls night out and we needed a place to have dessert so we checked out Cako Creamery and I ordered an ice cream. It was ok and hit the spot

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
