Yes, it’s a famous and historic place. I decided to grab a bite with my family and stepped in to the line. I picked a Chardonnay to pair with our shrimp and pesto pizza. Since I didn’t have a wine opener on me I asked...More

Being solo there was no wait for a table. I ordered the classics - Oysters and Chowder in Sour Dough. Both lived up to the hype.

Even though you will find them throughout the city, including the airport, I like this location next to Pier 41. The people in the bakery are very pleasant and sometimes would give me extra pieces of lemon poppyseed bread because I started to recognize me....More

The place was busy but they kept the lines moving. Those that got the sour bread bowls were not disappointed. The soup was delicious and I really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. The area around the pier is just a great atmosphere to visit. We...More

When you visit the pier 39 and see the sea lions, this is the place to go afterwards and eat a warm soup for example. They have a lovely x-mas decoration, so really a cozy place during winter too.

It was a treat to go here. Not just from the darn good bread but the museum tour they do. We did not eat upstairs, but the food downstairs was great! Sourdough pizza and two soup bowls, plus we got quite a few bread things...More

Took my Mom for lunch. Couldn't wish for a better experience. Very busy on a sunday but had a very short wait for food to arrive. Sat on the sidewalk seating and enjoyed Clam chowder, shrimp sandwich and excellent fish tacos. These were especially good,...More

You can smell the fresh bread being made as you walk past the doors of the shop and restaurant. In the windows they have the cutest bread animals they make too! The lower level is the bakery (which offers tours), the shop, and deli. Upstairs...More

This is not the place for those who want sophistication, but you can have fun and taste soup served in a round italian bread. Since I am a fan of mexican food, I had chilli. It's normally a little crowded, but it's worth a try.

I do not know and I tried to check their web site, but did not see anything about gluten-free items. I found their menu by googling it along with their web site.
