About 24 miles south of Kona International Airport...on Mamalahoa Hwy. Absolutely the BEST fish and chips ANYWHERE. Fresh, light batter, chips are thinly sliced and delicious. We have gone there several times on each of our last 3 vacations to the Big Island. Great little place to stop.

We stopped here for lunch with our tour group and although I think we kinda overwhelmed the place they did a fine job of keeping things orderly and getting our orders out in a timely fashion. The portions were tremendous too! We ordered the fresh and local Ono fish - fried - and it was plentiful and simply put - delicious. The prices are quite reasonable too.
Would definitely recommend stopping here for a nice fish lunch in their lush gardens!

I stopped in when it was pouring down rain. There was only one other couple eating on the patio. It is covered, so you do not get wet, but can enjoy the rain coming down, and listening to the frogs.
I ordered the fish and chips and it was delicious. It also came with a good sauce.
They have items for sale in the front of the store, as well as selling Donkey Balls Chocolates which are chocolate covered macadamia nuts and are very good.

Heading south of Captian Cook this is a must stop! Keokis is a casual roadside restaurant on the west side of the road (it comes up on you fast - if you pass it, it is worth turning around). We were there on an early Tuesday afternoon and they had a solo guitarist/blues singer!! We ordered at the counter and grabbed a picnic table out back to listen to the entertainment. We enjoyed the ono fish and chips and fried shrimp basket both fresh and cooked to perfection. Reasonable prices for Hawaii and a cute gift shop with their own coffee. Highly recommend!!

Aloha Keoki’s Ono Fish and Chips is on the outer end of Kona. In the town of Caption Cook mike market 116. We stopped in during our scenic drive around the Big Island. You pull up and walk through a small quaint country store type shop. You can buy local goodies. The dining is an open grassy area like eating out in your backyard. The table setup consists of small two or four top tables. They have picnic tables for larger groups.
The menu is Fish and chips served with French fries, Tatar sauce and lime. They have a homemade coke slaw.
An array of sandwiches, Fish, Ham, Turkey, Veggie and Tuna Melt. Kids menu: Grilled Cheese, Chicken Nuggets and kid Fish n chips. They even have 🍕, Sweet potato fries, onion rings and a local green salad.
Those who love burgers. They have local grass fed beef. All sandwiches are topped with lettuce, tomato and onion and served with Fries. Hamburger, Cheeseburgers, Veggie Burger & Famous Keoki Burger (pineapples & BBQ).
We sat outside enjoying the cool breeze. I had the house salad with Avocado minus mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. It was very tasty and filling. John had the turkey sandwich that came with chips and picked. The price we paid was reasonable.
Our service was okay. She was friendly but very busy which is understandable because it was only her. We will definitely visit Keoki’s on our return trip to Kona

We were directed to have a seat at a table and then ignored for 30 plus minutes before being asked is we had been waited on. A man who was waiting on all those around us and cleaning tables appeared to not see us during this time. He did wait on two other tables of folks that seated themselves later. After a woman asked for our order, he then asked us on two new occasions if he had taken our order. After we order our food took another 30 plus minutes to be served. While not that bad, it was eatible and we were famished. Was with kind patient family or would have left. D

We stopped by for a late lunch and though they said they were open, I wish they told us they were out of most items before we sat down...
No ahi
No onion rings
No panko crumbs
No pineapple salsa
No veggie burger
and, this is funny, we asked about a restroom and ...no restroom! She suggested we go in the bushes. :)
Besides that, the food they did have was good, especially the ono. We will aha eta go back to give them another chance!

I believe this restaurant has a different name currently (Grinderz??). It’s such a special find — delicious and fresh fish and chips, awesome homemade sauces, and laid back vibe in a garden setting. We went on a rainy afternoon and it was lovely sitting under an awning surrounded by lush flora. It’s super casual and the manager is friendly, knowledgeable and funny. Go!

Panko-crusted fish and chips —a large portion (8 medium pieces of fish)—very good (considering I’m not a fish and chips fan!). Husband had a medium jalapeño, ham, and pineapple pizza. Had good crust and sauce, toppings plentiful. Very filling! Woman-owned and run restaurant. Wait time minimal and staff friendly. There is an area to browse and buy local stuff while you wait, postcards to peruse; welcoming venue. Don’t forget to buy a pack of Kona Kay’s Kona coffee Mac-nut cookies ($5.95).

Had the ono & chips for lunch. First visit and was recommended by local. Wife & I hit the grilled one and a half portion with homemade onion rings. Was all we could eat. Came with Cole slaw that was fantastic with a flavor of pineapple. Had live entertainment playing through lunch hour. May not look like much from the road but don’t be afraid to grab a meal here at this mom & pop establishment. You’ll be pleased with your choice.

Great, fresh food! Generous portions. Reasonably priced. Our group had Ono fish sandwiches (grilled and Panko), fish tacos, ahi nachos, and cheese pizza. Everyone really enjoyed their meals (and the menu was expansive enough to accommodate picky eaters, pescatarians, and meat eaters!) The waitstaff and owner were so friendly and helpful. The garden setting was lovely. We’ll definitely be back!

Lovely lady owns joint. Collect little spot on Kona. Go for ono and chips. It was delicious. She was wonderful stayed open late as we drove back in rain. Said all I have is the dryer for fish and chips (and pineapple slaw …oh yeah)!
It was fantastic. She’s a doll funny hospitable. And god bless her a son in the army. I’ll eat there every time when mom is home working the family joint while her son defends our lands…
Oh and did I say get the ono and chips!!! Off the chart good. When you see it south or Capt cook — stop turn around go, chill let troubles melt and eat soul food Hawaiian style.
And the little tabby jet jumping on our lap wanting some fish! I’m not cat guy but he was too much fun. You can shoo him but not after you pet him like me. He found his huckleberry!
Seriously. Great place. Gold gem on the road worth the stop.

Taco Tuesday! I had chicken tacos with the pineapple cilantro salsa; friend had grilled fish tacos with three different sauces, including the pineapple cilantro salsa; hubs had a fish sandwich with the salsa. We all agreed: the pineapple cilantro salsa with the restaurant’s signature sauce was to die for! Do not pass up the opportunity to eat at this wonderful outside oasis and sample the salsa and sauce!

We ate here a few times on a Kona stay in early 2022. Enjoyed the ono and chips, loved sitting out back with the chickens and geckos. Feels like old Hawaii, not too touristy, just a relaxing, down to earth place. Highly recommend.

Stopped for a late lunch of beer battered fish &chips, pineapple slaw & cheeseburgers, one beef & one veggie (black bean). All perfectly prepared, reasonably priced & served with aloha. Casual and family friendly, free parking, takeout available, too. Charming resident cat; big rabbits hopping in yard down below & a nice surrounded-by-nature feel on the lanai. Highly recommend.

We were heading back from a long day of snorkeling and sightseeing when we came across Keoki’s.
The building looks like it used to be a shop or manufacturing business of some sort.
We sat in the back which felt like hanging out on someone’s patio. Pretty basic furniture, some tables with cloths some without. Plastic service and some paper plates.
Our server was wonderful. She was patient with our group and got the order right.
We had the Ono fish and chips which were fresh and amazing. Someone else in our party had a build your own pizza. It was fresh and obviously house made ingredients.
I had a trio of Ono tacos. They had fresh pineapple salsa on them.
Food was quick and hot!
No alcohol served.
