What an outstanding experience today for our 34 th anniversary celebration!! Our Dental office suggested Caio, and suggested we call for reservations for a Saturday lunch, now I know why! The restaurant was packed, no wait but full. First sign of a great Italian restaurant....Second is that it reminded me of a New York Italian restaurant from when I was a kid. Reasonably priced, exception was the Cabernet that the server suggested with the meal, glass of wine was more than my meal, but very good too and heck, it’s my anniversary! After 34 years I can splurge!! Great meal! We will be back often.More

Been here before and foods good despite being expensive. However the customer service leaves much to be desired. Older hostess lady at front is always very very rude. I think she just be an owner or manager because the way she treats staff and patrons...is beyond disrespectful. Again the prices here are not cheap and for the amount of money spent here the staff level of customer service should go hand and hand. This I can say makes my visit here my last. Wouldn’t give her name but older lady with nose ring and blonde brown hair. Just her attitude makes the experience here SUCK. Get her away from your customers.More

We go there once or twice a month. It's always good. My favorite is Eggplant Parmigiano, but I've had Lasagne, pizza etc. All yummy.

We called ahead for reservations and sat right down when we got there. Menu and wine list both extensive. We both had great meals: pasta and pizza with a bottle of chianti.

Service was excellent. Red Tuscan wine was delicious but needed an ice cube or two. Calamari was deliciously cooked and not greasy fried. Baby clams in garlic was perfectly prepared and tasty. Veal Marsala was skimpy with an overly rich sauce which prevented the veal...from shining. Bread and olive oil was excellent. Overall, a nice dinner, overpriced but we knew that before hand. Next visit a pizza.More

We had a training. Everyone came from work, & needed to be refueled for the evening training. Ciao's lasagne hit the spot! The chef made it so smooth and flavorful. All the major food groups were included in every mouthwatering bite! Yes, lasagne is comfort...food, but their lasagne brought it to a whole new level. This was the best lasagne I have ever eaten! Everyone devoured every single bite.More

Ciao Osteria is a wonderful Italian restaurant the has a friendly environment where the owner talks to all the customers and welcomes you to his restaurant. The food was fabulous in presentation and exquisitely delicious in taste. I had beef tortellini with peas and onions...in red sauce and it was excellent. My date had veal parmigiana which was delicious too. Our salads were delicious too with complex flavors of wild greens, mushrooms, walnuts, cranberries and a lovely vinaigrette dressing. We ate ourselves full and I look forward to my return. Great food ‼️More

Our party was greeted quickly and warmly and we were seated in short order. Our food was expertly prepared per our special requests, and frankly was one of the best Italian meals I've had this side of the Atlantic. What put a damper on the...meal was the almost non-existent service. We sat for quite a while before a server from another area asked if we had received service. We had not. After a while longer, our server came by to take our order. The server took our order correctly and was pleasant overall, but the attentiveness factor just wasn't there. He didn't check in to see how our food was prepared, came by infrequently, and seemed very distracted. I understand that servers are busy and overworked, but taking a little extra time to check in with customers can make all the difference between a mediocre and great experience. Given the cost of our meals, I would expect much more attentive service; what we experienced was more like what one would expect at a basic diner.More

We ate an early dinner before heading out to Dulles. It’s convenient to the airport. We had chicken parmigiana and chicken Marsala. Both were excellent with a decent but not huge amount of pasta as a side. We started with a small Caesar salad which...was really good, just as I remembered it. Our waitress was polite, efficient and checked with us at least three times to make sure everything was as it should be. We made reservations but cleared were not needed since we were eating an early midweek dinner around 430pm. It can and does get crazy busy later and especially on weekends. We were very pleased since this was our first return to Ciao since before Covid struck. Everything was as good or better than we remembered. Prices were of course slightly higher but the quality was very good.More

1 terrible. Worst lasagna I ever had. All cheese. 1 tablespoon of meat. Noodles were hardly there. Atmosphere was noisy, crowded, pushy, rude wait staff. They gave us dirty looks when we didn’t get up right away and leave. Crying children. Crowded beyond capacity. Long...wait lines. Never never going back.More

We went here several years ago and didn’t return, but I don’t know why. Their menu looked great with lots of good choices. Service was friendly and attentive also. We had just a pizza (verace) and salad, and it was delicious. The place gets very...crowded, so reservations are recommended. We will certainly go back and try the other options. Wine was a little pricey (about $15 per glass for most.), but otherwise prices were not too bad.More

Having read over and over again about Ciao Osteria and how wonderful it was, my husband and I went there for lunch today. For reference, we arrived about 12:10 (lunchtime in our opinion). There were only two other groups when we arrived so we were...seated and our order was taken promptly. Our food came out in about 10 minutes. We each got a different pasta--tortellini for him, carbonara for me. They were okay, but they were completely average. We were underwhelmed. I'm a very good cook, but not a great cook, but even my Italian dishes at home are better. Maybe their dinners are more upscale, and I'm sure that cheese wheel thing is an experience, but we were actually pretty disappointed. The food was moderately warm, but not hot, the portions were large, but both dishes were dry. We're glad we went to see for ourselves, but we will look elsewhere for our next Italian meal.More

Several years ago this was the best restaurant in Centreville, possibly the best Italian restaurant in Northern VA, but like most has gone downhill. The bread is still pretty good and most of the meals are ok but other local Italian retsaurants in Manassas and...Reston are now far superior because Ciao's owner has just let it go. Gone are the days when the service was impeccable, the chef would pay each table a personal visit, and sometimes the owner too. Gone are the days when the staff actually cared about the customers need and concerns. My last visit in December was awful and the time before that (my Birthday in June was terrible). Unfortunately, I am done giving Ciao great reviews and not giving them a third chance to mess up my dinner. I say Ciao to Ciao.More

I have tried seafood, meat, salad, pizzas - everything is good. They make their own Gelato. One can just order gelato for take out ! Great ambience. If there are bo free tables ( very busy at dinner) , one can find a place at...the small bar. Love this place though can be a bit expensive.More

There are better Italian restaurants such as Villagio Trattoria in Clifton. Buy a gift there instead. Sicilians would cringe if they went to Cia Osteria, the food is barely mediocre
