We stumbled by accident on Gio's restaurant and boy were so glad we did. It's a real Italian family restaurant. Because Gio Handpicks all the ingredients (only from local production) there is no menu provided. You only get seasonal really fresh food. I have the...chance I'll definitely go back to enjoy his fantastic coocking! Food 5/5 Hospitality 5/5 Price/Quality ratio 5/5More

My cousin who live in Italy likes to try different restaurant. We drive for 45 min to get to this little restaurant in Pignataro Maggiore. It was worth the drive. This is a rustic cusine, that reminded my cousin and I of our childhoods. It...was all very tasty and fresh. Unfortunately we did not try the wine. But the 2 other guys there seemed to like it and order more. We chatted with the owners, and the 2 other customers. It was a treat. The antipasto were all great. The pasta with bacala was good, just a little salty for me. The dessert was light, fluffy and not overly sweet. There is no menu. You need to get over this. You can call ahead and they will accommodate you likes. Worth a try and the experience and adventure.More

I have been here with my colleagues in Feb 2019 for my farewell party from the company I worked for at that time. An unforgettable day with gorgeous local and genuine food and lovely company. Giorgio has passion and is incredibly welcoming. He will tell...you where everything comes from, he chooses every single vegetable or meat. A small little gem absolutely worth the visit.More

We love the food and atmosphere here! Gio is such a wonderful host and tries to explain everything slowly so we can understand it! The food is incredible! Send them a message on Facebook and you are all set!

Used fb messenger the day before to make a reservation for eight at 12. Very responsive. Recommend contacting prior to arriving to check on availability. Nothing was brought to our table that wasn’t absolutely awesome. Great table wine. Primi for the day was a sausage...and porcini mushroom dish with a choice of gnocchi or another type of pasta. Waiter was fantastic and despite our limited Italian vocabulary took the time to explain what he was serving us. We will be back again!More

We had been staying locally in Riardo and found this place on TripAdvisor. Having read the reviews we decided to book a table and we're so happy that we did. This restaurant deals in fresh regional produce and is cooked to the highest standards by...the owner, Giorgio. We had antipasti, fresh pasta, dessert and as much of Giorgio's homemade wine and we could drink (which, by the way was delicious!!). Everything was absolutely delicious and Giorgio has the passion of a man half his age, he breathes life into this restaurant and the most fantastic host. If you want a beautifully cooked, authentic Italian meal then you shouldn't miss this place, it's an absolute hidden gem. Thanks Giorgio for an evening that was unforgettable ❤️More

The owner cooked amazing food based on what he was able to buy fresh that day. This means that there was no menu. We had a great time eating there, not only was the food really good, the owner kept us entertained throughout the meals...as well. We recommend this place 100%More

We looked on tripadvisor for a lunch spot on our way to Umbria from Amalfi. Having decided on Antica Osteria we struggled to find it and had to get out and walk the streets if the village. On entering we were met by a man...who turned out to be Giorgio. It was late on a Sunday lunchtime but he still invited us in. With no shared language to speak of he managed to tell us there was no menu and that he would bring food for us to eat. Course after course of delicious food arrived, along with a carafe of his own home made wine. After the extended meal we asked our welcoming , friendly host to take away a litre if his wine for later. The meal was amazing and the extra wine was offered as a gift. Do not pass up the opportunity to enjoy great home cooking in a unique place. We even go to meet the chef, his lovely wife. Thank you for one if the best experiences and fun of our trip to Italy. We went with my family on a Saturday afternoon to this lovely little restaurant. It's within half an hour drive from where we live and we like to explore different restaurant around us. We are glad we found this place. Giorgio is a very warm...and welcoming owner/chef and has a passion for his food. All well prepared, locally sourced and fresh. Nice local wine as well. We will definitely come back. You will have to call to make a reservation before you are planning to come by. Enjoy!More
