Stopped for lunch. The views were fantastic helped by the fact the sun was shining. Staff were very accommodating moved us from the inside table we had booked to an outside one. The langoustines were really good, the service was a little slow but we...did not mind that much given the surroundings. Everywhere this remote seem to be struggling for staff, but they are certainly trying hard to mitigate that.More

Buoyed up by excellent reviews we were really looking forward to a fabulous meal at this "fish" restaurant. Unfortunately there was little fish available on the menu on the night we visited except fish and chips. The view was amazing but our guest house proprietors...later told us that the Kylesku was under new management so maybe things will improve or maybe we just caught it on an off day?More

Lovely location but sadly food was not as expected. Lamb rump was extremely fatty and undercooked. Served with loads of potatoes and parsnips. Wish I had sent it back. Service a bit uncaring. We were not asked if our meal was ok/if we were enjoying...it. Very overpriced and overrated in my opinionMore

We stopped here on our way up to John ‘o’ Groats. We loved it. The views were spectacular. Unfortunately we hadn’t booked due to travelling but we would have loved to have been able to eat the food looked amazing. We stayed for a drink...and sat outside in the sunshine, we were lucky enough to hear and see the seals out on an island. The staff were friendly and very kind.More

18 years we've seen many changes but the most recent one shows signs of having dumbed down. One time famous for its langoustines is now serving medium sized prawns which were overcooked. Vegetarian miso noodles were stodgy with very few vegetables poorly prepared. Tomato based...hummus starter very good. Cullen Skink plentiful in seafood if a little thin. Wine list could do with less £30-40 wines in favour of better choice of more affordable reds. This restaurant is new under this management and I sincerely hope it focuses on its menu and not on its recently acquired route 500 trade and its excellent views.More

I visited this restaurant on three occasions. Considering it is the only restaurant within miles you would think that it didn't have to try hard. However this was not reflected in the food or the service. It was pricy but not overpriced when one takes...into account the quality of the ingredients. I had Cullen Skink (a haddock and potato chowder) fish twice, burger and Scottish cheese and oatcakes. Portions were not over large but that is a good thing. I was recognised as a returning customer. Servers were friendly and polite. Dishes came at about the right pace. I would be very happy to return if I didn't live several hundred miles away.More

This is a excellent place to eat Amazing views of the loch from most tables Great drinks menu Extensive food menu - the seafood especially should not be missed Good gluten-free options. However my only negative comment is that they do not have a separate...fryer so not all dishes shown as gluten-free are suitable for coeliacs. Hopefully they will rectify this by our next stay and if so I will give them 6 stars out of 5. Dogs are very welcome to stay in the bar and restaurant areas - not something you get in most hotels. The staff were amazing - friendly and efficient A special mention for Fraser, the maitre d’, who is clearly excellent at his job. Looking forward to coming back soon to enjoy another great meal.More

We had some amazing seafood on our NC500 trip but this was the best. Ordered the seafood platter for 2 (although there was easily enough to feed 3 people). Crab, oysters, langoustines, scallops etc etc - took us around 2 hours to eat it! Amazing...setting as well. Maybe slightly pricy (although as stated a platter for 2 can easily feed 3), but would thoroughly recommend to anyoneMore

Staff were friendly, warm and extremely helpful, trying to accommodate different dietary needs. The views are incredible, with a magnificent drive to get there and then on over the bridge. The NC500 is stunning. One thing wasn't right but it had nothing to do with...the restaurant: whilst enjoying our food a couple of fishing boats moored on the jetty to unload their catch. The second boat, red with YS12 painted on its side, left a thick film of oil around the jetty and the waters just in front of the restaurant. Maybe the owners of the restaurant could explain to the fishermen from that boat that if they want to carry on selling fish to restaurants it's better not to pollute the place where the fish comes from ? Fishermen and fisherwomen are not very good at joining the dots as they mostly voted for Brexit but it's worth a try.More
