A billboard on I-26 enticed us to come and try Higher Ground. A good lunch time crowd on a Saturday. We were looking for something other than a fast food burger. These burgers were a good size and a nice amount of French fries.

My wife and I returned on a cold rainy night for another really good hamburger. The onion rings are the best anywhere and our burgers were really superb. Sweet potato fries were excellent. The service is excellent and the staff really seems to appreciate your...visit. We will certainly return.More

I should have taken a picture of the Char-Nobyl Burger but this is the basket where it used to live. Perfect amount of heat. Ginger was our server and did GREAT. We will definitely be back.

We ate lunch here today and now we understand why the parking lot was full, and each table was filled. Service was friendly, quick and attentive (thanks, Hannah!), and food was served in a timely manner. My threshold question for a burger place is "Will...they serve a medium-rare burger if asked?" Many places say they will, but then bring out a thoroughly overcooked patty. Not Higher Ground--they were spot-on for burger temperature and doneness. I ordered the "Totes Ma Goats" burger, with creamy goat cheese, lettuce, onion, and bacon aoili. It was delicious, as were the grilled veggies on the side. My husband's cheese steak was excellent as were the baked beans, and we split a basket of sweet potato fries, which were some of the best ones I have had. The fries were neither too crispy nor too floppy, and Hannah kindly brought out the honey butter for dipping. Thanks for one of the best restaurant lunches we have had since COVID. We will be back!More

We went to Higher Ground to go a little up the road and try something new. We got a seat quickly and service was fantastic. I thought my meal was decent, my husband I think really enjoyed his meal. Later I read the meaning behind...the name and thought it was wonderful (check out their website if you’re interested). I think we’ll be back!More

We took out two salads and they lacked all around. All lettuce and nothing much more. Disappointed as the reviews we highly rated. Maybe they were not salad related. Will not go back

We were politely greeted and seated. My wife and I both had a burger. Mine was a pimento cheese and fried green tomato. It was excellent in every way. Good selection of draft beers. The baked beans were very good with a smokey flavor. We...ate inside as the outside area is just too noisy with traffic. As a side note, this is not Chick-fila. Come inside and enjoy yourselves.More

First experience while visiting family and ordered curb side service. Parking for curb side service is great. Right in front of the restaurant and wait staff comes out quickly. Ordered 2 Char Burgers medium well and one with fries and one with hush puppies. Also...ordered Mi Amigo Southwestern Flip with steak . Burgers are very good size and cooked to order. For ordering to take to out I was disappointed in that no ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise was in our boxes of sandwiches which made for a very dry burger. And no plastics are or even napkins so eating was with fingers. So for take out orders make sure you ask for condiments and napkins. Fries were ok and a little cold. Hush puppies were fantastic and they did send sweet butter with the hush puppies. The Mi Amigo Flip - I couldn’t see or taste the creamy avocado and mexi-ranch. Since take out again had to do without. Food would probably be better dining in so you could ask for the condiments but if you are ordering to go make sure you ask for it.More

My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to Higher Ground and the food was great. I had a bacon cheeseburger and it was superb. My wife had a grilled chicken salad and we had an app of onion rings, with ranch and buffalo dressing...on the side. The service was good, but they were out of several beer selections. Overall, this was a good visit and the burger was as good or better than any around here.More
