Closed?! VERY open. Stumbled across it when we drove into Milford on Route 6 at lunchtime after seeing Shohola Falls. Pulled into Walgreen’s in town center and saw Dimmick’s pleasant outdoor seating on its porch and beyond right across the street. (That side is more...removed than the other side from the traffic at the corner where Dimmick’s sits.) The food here puts anything in Port Jervis or Matamoras in the shade. The good news is that Dimmick’s is a quick 10-15 minute drive down Route 209 from them, and parking is easily available on the street. Menu is compact but offers things from pizza to pasta with varied salads, burgers, and mains between. That tells you there is a real chef in charge. It is not an exhaustive list of all the American standards but offers inventive twists on some and knowing renditions of favorites. Pasta is al dente, not limp, and sauced to entice, not to overwhelm. Seafood is fresh. The cauliflower appetizer is substantial, accompanied by arugula and cherry tomatoes with a well-balanced yogurt and curry sauce. After lunch, we drove back from Matamoras for dinner. Wish we had known about Dimmick’s sooner. Update your info for them. It is out of date, unfair to them and to travelers.More

We have been regulars at the Dimmick for many years and mostly the lunch of dinner experiences were good. There are always a few ups and downs, but usually we were happy. However, the owner/manager had now decided that it is appropriate to charge an...additional 3.9% when using a credit card for payment! Menu prices are cash only prices. And if you want Pinot Grigio before their usual Wednesday only delivery, you may be out of luck. Apart from the fact that merchants do not pay 3.9% transaction fees to credit card companies, I resent the idea of having to go to an ATM before eating out. Denmark is on the verge of abolishing cash, and we in America are being penalized if not using it. In one word: pathetic!More

We met with friends there and sat outside on the porch. Service was good as was the food. The ambiance is nice, sitting outside watching the town bustle. Only drawback of sitting on the porch is the noise. The traffic of cars and trucks are...literally a few feet away making it hard to hear each other at certain points. We parked on the street which could be a little difficult. Not sure if they have a parking lot. As for the food, it was good, a little expensive but not crazy. The artichoke and prosciutto pizza was tasty, crispy and just right. The steamed clams in the white sauce was delicious, worthy of sopping up the juice with bread. The mushroom bacon burger was a little dry but the fries were cooked perfectly. Again, the service was good, staff was attentive and accommodating.More

The menu was fairly extensive. My friend had the flat iron steak and I had the pork baby back ribs. Both entrees were excellent. The fireplace had a nice fire on which made for a nice ambience. Service was excellent.

Only gave it a very good because the price are ridiculous! $15 for a personal pie is just crazy! $17 for a calzone? The boneless wings in bbque sauce were terrific and the service was great. Just the prices for food and drinks are very...highMore

This could have been a great last night of our trip to Milford but unfortunately it was poor...sorry to say. Pizza and salads were good but the evening there was not. All a mater of knowing your clientele and figuring out where folks should be...seated in order to provide a positive experience. This is not rocket science! We were seated next to 3 young people (whose numbers grew) out for a fun evening...rounds of shots and a loud waitress hangin around. I get it...so why would you throw an older couple into the mix when there were empty tables far away from this group.More

Stopped in there for a drink and an appetizer in the late afternoon. Sat out on the porch. Wonderful visit. Had the soft pretzel (huge and.tasty). Great ambience, service, etc. in this historic inn. Also a great view of downtown Milford.

WE were not there for Sunday brunch so I have no idea. I’m sure if you ring them they’d give you the info. I’ll bet it’s a wonderful brunch though. Please post about it if you do go. I’m looking forward to stopping there... More
