Over 40 mins to get our food whilst restaurant was less than half full. Not fun with 2 bored and tired kids. Food pretty ordinary too. Pity.

We were looking for somewhere to have dinner, and we now know that in the seaside town of Kiama, everything closes by 8.30pm. We literally door-knocked at 4 different places and none of them were willing to feed us a quick meal (2 adults and...1 child), even after we said we will be done under 30 mins. Finally, we were told to try the Chinese restaurant (the only one in town). When we entered, there were no patrons and no staff - the place was empty. After I called out, a lovely tired young lady came out and welcomed us. She took the order and in about 10 mins, all the food was on the table. Everything was delicious and she was washing the dishes the whole time we were there - we felt quite sorry for her, as it was nearly 10pm. She was working alone and was clearly exhausted, yet still friendly, smiling and lovely. We had our food, paid with a generous tip and wished her all the best. We had a bit of an upset stomach the next day. The chicken inside the honey chicken was a bit chewy and stringy. Thanks for feeding us when nobody else was willing.More

Food quality was poor, the serves were quite small for the price. One of our party found a hair in their food. The men’s toilets smelt of urine. The service was polite but they were too busy even though the restaurant was not full. The...food service was very slow, from ordering to serving was well over an hour. All in all very disappointing.More

We ordered fried rice, vegetarian fried rice and vegetarian cashew nut. Unfortunately it was probably the worst Chinese I have ever had. The sauce was gluggy and bland. It came with some carrot and about a whole entire onion cut into massive chunks. When the...rice came out undercooked, we had to send it back as it was not edible. The young waitress at the counter was polite but we would still never return.More

Went for lunch today and asked for the lunch menu. The owner gave us a menu in which we ordered off of. The ladies sitting next to us arrived after us and ordered off of a different menu. The "takeaway and lunch special" menu. Both...menus featured same dishes but different prices. The mongolian lamb dish we ordered was $10.99 on the lunch menu and $23.00 on the menu we were given. When we went to pay I asked why we were charged prices off their dinner menu? When ladies sitting beside us were allowed to order from the lunch menu. In short, we were charged $20 more for ordering off of their more expensive menu. Same dishes. They probably thought we were from Sydney so attempted to charge us more but unfortunately for them they just lost local Kiama customers.More

We ordered Mongolian Lamb and a sizzling Seafood dish. Could not fault either. Well presented and the flavors were very nice. We were there early so only takeaways around us. As expected being the only seated customers the service was spot on. The atmosphere was...fine. Covid rules followed. Would recommend.More

We had a meal in this restaurant in July 2020. The wait staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a sizzling garlic combination meal with steamed rice. There was very little or NO garlic flavour, BLAND, to be precise. The rice was sticky and gluey...to say the least. The WORST aspect was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was VERY COLD. I was informed by staff, the building was very old and the air conditioning system was broken and not worth fixing. The only heating available was a very small vertical bar heater, with only 3 of the 4 bars working. The table of guests near the heater enjoyed most of the warmth, as it turned towards their table, which was situated near the entrance. The remainder of the guests had to suffer the cold. Pathetic!!! Others were also complaining. When I asked for a reduction in the bill, I was refused, I was refused, reason being, there was nothing wrong with food!! It seems paying guests are not entitled to be comfortable whilst eating tastless, gluggy food. I discussed with a relative of mine, who with others attended the same place 2 weeks prior. Because of the temperature in the room, they ate their meals asap and left. Usually the group spends 2 hours conversing and enjoying a lot of laughs. I would NOT recommend anyone to dine in, during winter (or any time for that matter) The place is like an IGLOO.More

My husband and I have now visited this wonderful old fashioned Chinese restaurant twice now in 4 weeks. The first time was due to a long and honest post, after a couple of not so good reviews. Our experience was amazing the service was 10/10...the food 12/10. A wonderful family run this restaurant and clearly they know how to cook! As we can’t eat in now due to changes in the world don’t forget to have a take out from here....... we will be.More

Prices on all takeaways have risen 1-5% in the last 12 months and dine in meals 5-10%. This is unfortunately unavoidable and is a reflection of increases in costs to suppliers, wages and overheads that occur in any business... More
