By far the best Indian cuisine I have had in a long time, and great portion sizes.
Maybe just need to train the waitresses a little more as service was a little disorganised.
But, still worth a visit for great food.
Awful experience here. Ordered delivery at 6pm, rang to check at 7.20pm, told “we’re busy” (it was a Tues night) and should be 20-30 mins longer once the delivery driver comes back. Called again at 8pm (40 mins later & 2 hrs after ordering), told...the driver isn’t back yet and no idea where he was. They called me back to say the driver just walked in and i was told to email if there was any issues once the food arrived. At 8.10pm (2 hrs 10 mins after ordering) our barely lukewarm and dry food arrived. Despite emailing twice, I got ZERO response from anyone. Atrocious experience from somewhere that clearly doesn’t care about it’s customers.More
If you’re after authentic-tasting Indian, this your place. We had the excellent barrah kebab (succulent lamb cutlets in tasty spices); the veg jalfrezi (lovely subzi, great spice balance); and the highlight was the gulbadan kofta (wonderful cardamom-infused vege balls in a sweet, spicy, cashew yellow...curry). It was a busy night we were there, but the service was prompt, the wait staff enthusiastic and servings well-presented. The eating space is away off the noisy Terralong St and located around an inside-outside verandah that opens onto a lovely grassed area. A must for those after real Indian favours.More
Absolutely delicious and flavoursome food! The taste is so authentic, with each meal has such a unique and powerful range of spices and favours. You will definitely be using your naan to soak up every last ounce of sauce!
We have tried both the Wollongong...and Kiama stores and both are great. The staff were so welcoming and attentive — especially Radhika at the Wollongong store. The food, staff and decor make it a lovely dining experience. Highly recommended.More
Whilst visiting Kiama, we ordered take away for our family our four.
Compared to our local Indian restaurant back home in rural NSW, we were left disappointed with JJ’s due to small serving sizes and overall taste.
My son said he’s had warm up Indian...meals from Woolworths that tasted better. I’d have to agree - the sauces in our dishes from JJ’s tasted unrefined and somewhat harsh. The butter chicken wasn’t creamy and smooth tasting.
The portion sizes were small and skimpy.
Overall, a disappointing experience.More
