About
We are the watering hole, the only bar on the beach in the UK, fact! Europe/world, by my opinionated knowledge, yes. A spot that is a must see attraction on this fine island down south of our country, ‘when you go, you will never leave’. We are found in the middle of Cornwall’s finest beach on the west coast, with a 3 mile stretch of sand shadowed by dunes and sea as far as the eye can go, with Holywell on our right shoulder and St Agnes on our left. The only bar actually on the beach in the UK, and the oldest! People continuously ask; how is it there? has it been flooded? how long has it been there? Just over 30 years ago(1978) a man called Bob Job started up a shack on the beach, roaming the

Drinks are silly prices and now in plastic cups which sucks. Litter everywhere, and generally looking sad, tatty and run down. Food OK but over priced but you pay for being on the beach, and what a beach. Some will hate, some will love but...it is different strokes for different folks so take most reviews with a pinch of salt until you have been and tried it. Not going to knock it, but it does need to up its game in 2022 otherwise even supporters will think twice.More

Eating out should be an experience and time to enjoy home cooked food. On arrival we were greeted by a dripping roof and a puddle on the food from the Cornish rain. We close to have the six ounce beef burger, well what a surprise...! A very dry and over cooked beef burger served in a dry bun, it was so dry and tasteless like the chef had no idea how to cook or use salt. The burger was garnished with rocket. The chips were extra, no salt added The cake…….well dry is an understatement! Well done watering hole……..we will not be backMore

The watering hole never disappoints we’ve been coming here for around 15 years and always love it the atmosphere is always great and views incredible. We are vegan and we always have the vegan nachos which are delicious 😋

Came for a beer, overpriced beers in plastic cups, Korev pee water is £6. Toilets absolutely reek, do the staff know where they are or even use cleaning products. Only good thing is the view

Visited here in the week it was packed on arrival waited to sit down as the weather was shocking. The setting is awesome but the bar its self is lacking in every way. Over priced on everything from the beers to the hot drinks and...food the place leaks when it rains and could do with some money spending on it as the amount they rake in must be astronomical. Very disappointed. Won't be back 🤨More

Honestly, I think my mouth would of been wetter eating the sand. 10quid for a over cooked burger and a dusting of rocket. No sauce, no cheese, no tomatoes... no chips. The bap also felt days old as I literally teared it with my teeth....So sad to seeing coming from such a beautiful location.More

Good food good beer amazing views while eating and drinking. Come here everytime we stay down. Not sure why people say it's pricey. yes it's abit more than some places but do have that view no. I'd rather pay a bit more for those views...site there and watch the body board and mess about on the beach. Definitely a must place to visitMore

Lovely place to sit and watch the waves, surfing, etc great nachos but pricey at £12 and I was stunned at paying £6 for a pint of Korev, the cornish lager, she did say £5.80 but only gave me £4 change from a tenner. Other...than that nasty sting, it was a pleasant afternoon with my family on my birthday.More
