We had a little time to kill before heading home and decided to have a light lunch in Jackdaws. Our first visit and certainly not our last. The egg and cress sandwich was, in my wife's words " the best she had ever eaten!" I...More

Right in the middle of Malmesbury, this is a good location for a cafe. Inside the town hall next to an art gallery, small museum and information centre. Car park outside. Sandwiches were made freshly and care taken to check exactly what we asked for....More

I love Jackdaws....I live locally outside of Malmesbury and if I nip into town, I sometimes get a coffee to take out and Jackdaws is always the best coffee - and the cakes are delicious too! The young staff who work there are always lovely...More

For a good cup of coffee, this is definitely the place. Sadly the owner is so grumpy, he makes me nervous every time I go and order something! Because of that only two stars.

Cracking location and comfortable seats, however... Very limited menu (only a few toasties on as warm food, even during cold weather), owner is quite abrupt and charmless, quite expensive for what it is. Try Amanda’s or The Summer Cafe for a warmer welcome and wider...More

This has always been a bit of an unfriendly and sterile place (the owner/manager is particularly grumpy) but on our last visit it had really gone down hill. The only food, other than cakes, they now serve is a few pre-prepared toasted sandwiches. On asking...More

I'm a regular here. The coffee is great. Always nice nibbles to be had. The staff are friendly and kind and put up with a gaggle of women every Tuesday morning, all knitting and stitching - I'm one of them. Mums and babies are welcomed...More
