Cool dive bar... but that said, the highly touted broasted chicken was a let down. The pieces were small, (one, the wing was the size of ones little finger with meat that seemed petrified) ... and my wife and i both had an odd after...taste lasting all afternoon.More
people poo poo this place because of the smoke... fine, I'd rather not be in a smoking bar.... but, the food is REALLY good... so, please, you people who complain about the smoke, stay away!!!!
As far a bar food goes it’s 4 stars. The broaster chicken is 5 stars. Sunday football is 5 stars along with NASCAR. God help you if you go here late at night. The rest rooms are terrible. So that’s why I gave 3 stars...overall. As I say “Timing”!More
just inn here last wk got a few brews and talked to people I see once in a great while I always look in the table where they have diff kinds of stuff they sell and sometime buy something its a once in a while...stop but its a good place to wander to they have bar type foods to and I like the wings here six times a year but I don't live that close either if I was a local I proably would be a regular non smoking now too if that's for youMore
The broaster chicken I heard advertised on a local radio channel sounded interesting. As soon as we walked in we were blasted with cigarette smoke. We couldn't make it any further. Turned around and walked out. looks like a great bar but, not so sure...about the restaurant portionMore
It is a local dive bar but they can be fun. Had half price drinks for happy hour. Kind of a very laid back type place. Not sure how the food is - we did not eat there. It does have indoor smoking.
Saw the mention of Broaster Chicken on the sign out front and had to check it out. That wasn't bad for lunch (~$6 for two pieces of dark chicken, cole slaw or baked beans, small roll, and two large potato wedges.) Similar to KFC chicken...- battered and apparently fried, though it was hard to tell. The place is a dive bar, though. Don't bring kids - too much smoke hanging in the air throughout since smoking is allowed. Waitress was pleasant, but the service was slow, and it also took a long time for our food to cook. The Cheeseburger on a 6" hoagie roll was a typical bar burger - very well done with no choice of cheese - just American. Beer choices were good, though. Saw a dart board with darts but didn't play. Also had two tables of old flea market-type items for sale in the corner. Go figure!More
I heard advertisements on the radio all day for their broassted chicken, so we decided to stop in and try it. First of all this is a local bar. Loud, filed with people smoking like chimney's and pretty dingy. There are a few booths on the...side with placemat menus which don't list any of the types of broasted wings they are buying up airtime bragging about. No one looked at us, greeted us or anything. We walked out when we saw one of the women smoking behind the bar then go back and get food and serve it at the bar. We walked out with no ever having bothers to look at us. Gross place, from the looks of it. Might be a great watering hole for locals, if you can stand the smoke, but eat anything from there? NO WAY! We laugh when we hear the radio ads now.More
The outside looks like the the inside. But don't let that have you pass it by. There is smoking allowed - but was not smokey any of the 50 times I've been here. People are always interesting and talkative/nice. Haven't had the food - but...some people seem to really like it.More
The broasted chicken is house special and was okay, but the smoke it overwhelming! My hair and clothes were stinky after being inside for take out.
For $22 we had a feast for lunch. My Dad, who is also my home health aide, I am disabled after a car accident, had a meeting at the Pines Tavern for lunch to discuss work plans and what needs to be done. It was...nice, the place is very clean and the barkeep was cleaning the pool table and light fixtures while we were there. The seating is clean and there are paper-towels for napkins, and the affordability of their meals cannot be beat. This is my first time there dining in the restaurant, but a friend of mine, has brought me their 4 piece Broasted Chicken meal before and it is perfect for a picnic, which we ate outside on my parents' porch that time. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. The restaurant was redecorated in 1992 with a new ceiling and floor. It is a country tavern with great deals and has been in business a long time. The couple who run it do a great job and their waitstaff was very professional and attentive. They have an ATM, a pool table, wings and bar fare as well as larger meals, people from the disabled HUD housing building in which I live come here for Karaoke night. It was quiet at lunch time. Smoking is permitted in the bar room.More
They have a Broasted chicken that I love. This is not a very clean place and good use a lot of updating. It is a couple ran bar.
The popular "Broaster" chicken is just another name for fried chicken and the batter they use is horrible, if they use one. It is not worth listening to on the radio every day. I had to get satellite radio to get rid of the wonderful...advertising......Really!!!!!!More
They should not be allowed to claim they serve Lunch/Dinner. They're broaster chicken is good, just stick with that. Service is indifferent, food served in plastic "baskets" and you have to request utensils (flimsy plastic knife and fork).
