About
Andina draws inspiration from the native culinary traditions of Peru, as well as from the contemporary cooking by some of Peru’s leading chefs. Owner Doris Rodriguez de Platt, collaborates with Andina’s kitchen team to develop a menu that celebrates her family’s Andean roots, interweaving the ideas and techniques of both Criollo and Novo-Andean cuisines. The kitchen sources native and local ingredients to create dishes at once traditionally rooted and personally inspired. Founded in 2003, Andina emerged as one of the region’s leading Peruvian restaurants and continues to generate wide appeal within the food communities in and around Portland, and much further afield

The services and the desserrs were really good but the food and drinks not at all. The seco was good served cold. The lomo saltado is made with soy sauce, but for this restaurant it was made with a thick red super spicy sauce. I...told the server about it and he said that people complained that it was too salty so they change the recipe. Im peruvian and I could say that a good lomo saltado is not salty if its is made the correct way. My husband just ate the meat because he was hungry but it was freaking spice. Also, the meat was not cook well and the prices are over priced. I wont come back again.More

The restaurant has excellent Peruvian cuisine and is very authentic. We ordered as appetizers ceviche and yuca frita which were very tasty. Main dishes were chicken and lamb, also were good. Dessert was a delicious and unique flan. Friendly staff. We really appreciate that we...were asked to show our COVID vaccinations cards. We felt they really take care about those people who are consciously aware of the lethal virus.More

So relieved that Andina made it through the COVID ups and downs. They are back and as great as before. Staff are very helpful and attend to guests like a five-star resort. They provide suggestions and accommodate food allergies. Food is excellent. and even though...the menu is pared down during this pandemic, every item I ordered tasted amazing and was presented in a fun and stylish way. The sauces are so delicious. If you don't have reservations, sit in the bar lounge area. I prefer it when solo or a party of two. Great atmosphere and other diners are friendly.More

This restaurant went from one of our favorites, to a restaurant we don't even bother going into any more. Finally open after the start of covid-19, Andina appears to have gone even further downhill than before the pandemic. Take one look at the new menu...and it is evident that they aren't even trying. All the tasty-looking items on the prayer reviews are no longer available and not even on the menu. I guess their outdoor patio restaurant that offers takeout is pretty good but, the indoor dining at the parent restaurant Andina just isn't worth the price tag.More

I dined at Andina during my first visit to Portland in 2003. My wife and I were blown away by the cooking. It was unique, hearty and delicious. One of the owners, a charming woman, stopped by our table to describe our dishes and her...passion for Peruvian cuisine was contagious. We returned the next night for another gracious experience. What a difference 18 years make. This time I was in Portland with a friend, my wife back in Seattle. Our reservation was for 8:30, but we were abruptly told our table was not ready, and I would receive a text when we should return. Thirty-five minutes later, at 9:05, I received the text. The restaurant was crowded, but not full. David was our excellent server, and he took excellent care of us. Drinks were wonderful and strong, perfect aperitifs before our meal. Appetizers arrived and they were delicious and refreshing, representing the best of Peruvian cuisine. For an entreé, we ordered the lomo saltado, an iconic Peruvian dish. And we waited, and waited, and waited. Our server David repeatedly apologized, but our appetites disappeared. The lomo saltado finally arrived, but the meat was tough and the dish appeared haphazardly prepared. When we asked about dessert, we were told the dessert line had left, told to go home. It was close to 11:00, but we were compelled to wait for our table and wait and wait and wait for our lomo saltado. The manager came over and comped the lomo, but our meal was ruined, and even worse, so was my memory.More

Recommend eating tapas style with everyone ordering 2 dishes to share. Loved the terrine de Cordero and the lomo salted, don't miss the ensalada del huerto and the the yuca fritz. Would go again in a flash. Excellent and friendly staff.

Sorry, we visited this so called Peruvian Restaurant a few days ago, and what a dissapointment. This place has absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH PERUVIAN FOOD. It's ALL more americanized or infused, and nothing of the AUTHENTIC food you eat in Peru. Service is mediocre...to say the least, tough to get parking and totally OVERATED AND OVER PRICED for sure. If you are looking for that fine DELICIOUS Peruvian FLAVORS, you are going to the WRONG PLACE. There are two other Great Peruvian restaurants in Portland, not maybe as fancy as Andinas is, with there white table cloths and all that crap, but you will EXPERIENCE THE REAL DELICIOUS FLAVORS of Peru, that's for sure. What a dissapointment and we spend lots if $$$$ for a party of 4. We DO NOT RECOMMEND THE PLACE.More

This place was really good the first time we tried it about 15 years ago. Since they changed owners about 10 years ago it's kind of gone downhill since then. Don't get me wrong it's still a good restaurant and one of the better ones...in Portland but, their quality control has really slipped and I can no longer justify paying their abusive prices for food that used to be good. Most of the items on my menu my wife makes anyway as she hails from Peru herself.More
