I had just ordered pancakes when a fellow diner’s breakfast arrived at her table. Stop the presses! I hoped it wasn’t to late to change my order, cuz her dish looked so scrumptious. It wasn’t too late and I ended up with the day’s special:...french toast with a vanilla cream sauce. There were only two slabs of toast, but with their size and the richness of the sauce, my neighbour asked for a doggy bag for half of her dish. I polished off both pieces and I’m sure I haven’t eaten that much for breakfast since I was a kid. But it was delicious and I had four hours of cycling ahead of me.More

La Maison was recommended by another local bakery. Small cozy breakfast spot with wonderful food and coffee. My husband and I split a delicious omelette, which left us enough room for a wonderful pastry. Don't miss this spot, it's a winner!

This is a quaint historical home transformed into a unique French bakery and cafe. Food and service were both great. We would definitely recommend this one of a kind dining experience.

We had a lovely breakfast on site and got wonderful breads and other goodies "to go". The Asiago cheese bread was fabulous , & the raspberry croissants were so yummy! We will return every time we are in the area. I want to eat everything...on the menu. The server was very good . Everyone working there was in a good mood despite Covid 19 . The building is very sweet inside. Clean and charming with lots of French style.More

This place is truly a hidden treasure. A dinky little restaurant and bakery with an eclectic and cozy atmosphere. The menu offerings are unique and always delicious. Be prepared to wait a bit to get seated for breakfast cuz their secret is out. We took...our grandchildren who were visiting from Atlanta for some sweets. The kids were just amazed at the size of the cinnamon rolls and the variety of the pastry offerings. We choose chocolate eclair, raspberry eclair and 5 cinnamon rolls. Much to their mom’s dismay those children devoured their delicious treats in minutes. We ALWAYS make it a point to visit every time we’re in Newport.More

Highly recommend this place for outstanding croissants and omelettes. It was big city bakery quality. Service was fast for takeout.

We were so happy to find this tiny cafe. The fresh squeezed oj was amazing as well as the americano. It's not cheap but the servings were large and the food was amazing. I can't wait to try the pastries we brought home.

This place was recommended to us by several people as well as the reviews. It wasn't bad, but I thought it was average food, pricey and a less then helpful staff. We started by asking for a recommendation, which came back 'everything is good.' We...specifically asked for something they liked, and they said, 'everything' again, a little annoyed with us. We a few things including the eclair, ham and cheese croissant, and raspberry cheese danish. The raspberry cheese danish was by far the best. The tartness of the raspberries balanced out the overly sweetness (and I am a sugar junky) of the glaze. The pastry base and cheese were both good. I enjoyed the eclair, but I wouldn't call it an eclair. It was like a custard sandwich on a croissant dough, cut in half with the top dipped in chocolate. The chocolate was overly sugary and sweet. The custard filling was good and the pastry was good too, but not what I was expecting for an eclair. It was good, but the chocolate flavor was overpowering and sweet, so a not a very balanced flavor. The ham and cheese croissant was good. Cheese was good, ham was a little off (sweet) and the croissant wrap was good. Nothing bad about it, but nothing great either - average. Overall, everything was ok. I don't think it was worth the money and we felt like our presence was inconveniencing the staff. All in all it is not a place I would return.More

My brother in law insisted we try La Maison while vacationing in Newport. Bought one of each; Banana & Maple Eclairs. I myself am not a big "filling" guy when it comes to pastries. I liked the Banana but the Maple was too sweet for...my liking. Their Cinnamon Rolls looked decadent so next visit I will try one.More

Needed breakfast to go as we headed out of Newport. My wife > the peasant omelet. Me, a croissant. For a snack later > the banana eclair. We ate, didn't talk, both shared, dug into the eclair, and look forward to returning.
