Tucked out of the way, this is an amazing find. We went with friends for Sunday lunch. 2 had the roast chicken both said it was moist and 2 of us had the beef, myself included. The beef was excelent and no too thinly sliced as in most places. My knife went through it like butter and the roast potatoes were crunchy and fluffy inside. The amount of food was more than enough the ladys couldn't finish theirs. So good I have just booked again for 12th November. Looking forward to another great meal.

Only recently got around to visiting this place having lived in the area for a while. i wish we had discovered it earlier. Lovely spacious garden - but more importantly clean and tidy! Lunch menu was extensive and the food was good - the best onion rings I have tasted. Staff very friendly and attentive. The only negatives in the interest of offering advice would be that it was necessary to buy 2 small bottles of orange juice to have the equivalent of a glass of orange. Also, that the desserts at £7.25 seem a bit steep so we declined. Otherwise, a very nice lunch.

Meal out with my other half in this delightful pub, on a Friday evening was very good.
The menu, not too fancy- just well cooked pub food & generous portions at fair prices.
The lady serving us was friendly & kindly gave me a sample of local cider bought to my table … we left happy & full

We had four lunches.I had haddock and chips, twelve to be precise, so few that I counted them. A very small piece of fish,
Not worth £15.50.
My wife had burger and chips. The burger was very dry, not helped by a dry bun with nothing on it.
My son had the warm duck salad, which was fine apart from the skin which was not crispy and therefore not edible.
My daughter - in -law had a portion of chips which were excellent.
We come here quite often as the staff are very nice, and the chips are the best, and we usually get enough food, but today, my sons birthday, was disappointing with three out of four of us
Dissatisfied with our meals.

Arrived before the start of dinner ,so had to wait 45 minutes to actuallly order.
Garden was ok, sat and had a couple of soft drinks.
Finallly ordered the "Chicken Burger"
Absolutly not good. Chicken over cooked small strips of breaded chicked ,probably from Aldi.
Chips overcooked and sparse 12.50 each.
Way over priced for what you get.
Definatly a locals kinda place. Maybe ok for a beer with friends since there wer epacks of loud foul mouth blokes drinking.
Too bad, with family and could have done without the background swearing and leering.
The staff were somewhat friendly, but food was noot good.

This was a throughly disappointing experience from an establishment that has previously delivered good quality roast dinners pre pandemic. We visited the Kentish Horse last Sunday and were cognisant upon arrival that it was extremely busy.
Two of us had roast dinners (one beef, one chicken). Upon arrival, the beef was very rare to the extent that we both felt it could have walked off the plate at a moments notice. It was promptly sent back, though unsure why the waiter did not ask beforehand I would like it cooked? Another waiter was very apologetic, citing how busy the restaurant was and that would be dealt with promptly. The beef retuned and it was cooked to an acceptable standard (never have sent back a roast from here before). Unfortunately, the quality all round for both roasts was not up to the standards delivered pre-pandemic. Has the previous chef left as this was catering standard? The gravy was like water, no flavour. The broccoli was significantly undercooked, roasts barely crunchy and not soft in the middle, stuffing inedible, Yorkshire’s catering standard, chicken no flavour.
I have had roasts at other establishments charging similar prices (£14.50 here) and this one is not worthy of being in that price bracket. It really was poor and I feel that the staff knew that it wasn’t good enough. The Kentish Horse is the first name I think of to visit for a roast in the area, though if this is standard to expect, sadly won’t be returning.

Has to be the most disappointing meal I have ever had there.
Used to be good food at great value, maybe I just got a bad day?
Poor quality food, with a lasagne that was tiny and looked like it had been unceremoniously dropped on the plate, a side salad that was about 2 desert spoons of lettuce, 1/2 tomato and 1 slice of cucumber!
A shame as I frequently recommend this pub, I may have to have a re think now. 😞

Met friends here for lunch for the first time.
The staff were welcoming and we were shown to our table, next to an open fire. Very much appreciated on a cold and wet miserable day. The menu was of a sensible size with reasonable prices. Selection of drink was good, with some nice ales on tap.
The food quality was excellent and obviously cooked from scratch and the service was very good.
The pub has a large car park, large garden and welcomes children (has a play area) and dogs (under control).
Would recommend a visit to this pub.

We had another great visit to the Kentish Horse, we love the garden area, the staff are super friendly and attentive, food is always good. Maria and Amanda are lovely as are the rest of the staff.
We also came at Easter bank holiday, it was really busy and we hadn’t booked so thought they might not do food for us but they kept taking orders and we didn’t wait long at all, very relaxed time even with it being busy, well done and thank you x x

Popped in after work for a pint. Decided to try some food too... OMG cottage pie with seasonal veg.
Some sort of spice in the mince, cheese in the mashed potato topping. Totally gorgeous 😍

Someone recommended this pub to us, but very disappointed. Food took ages and was poor quality for the price. Staff quite rude and no apology we had been waiting so long. Clearly not enough staff for the amount of customers.
It was also really cold inside because the staff kept leaving the door open, but we were scared to say anything because of the way staff shouted at other people who did. Quite shocking really.

First time visit, front of pub was a bit off putting but we were pleased we went in as the staff were very welcoming and attentive. We both had liver and bacon which was very well cooked and presented, very impressed with the variety of vegetables, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Will go again.

We held a gathering family and friends here at the Kentish Horse pub after a service at the church. Trevor and his team made us feel very welcome and we all rated it a first class event. Champagne and lunch buffet excellent. Thank you.

Lovely meal. Staff so friendly. Food simple and homemade. Good choice. Had the quiche Lorraine which was very good. Desserts were all homemade as well and delicious. Big car park and the children loved the play area.

Delightful sitting in the sun in the very pleasant garden staring at the vast horizon - so peaceful. Staff here are lovely, friendly, warm and very efficient. Mid-week lunch and the place was packed which says a lot. Food here is pretty typical, but well-cooked and presented and reasonably priced. The Kentish Horse is a really nice venue and we will certainly return.
